A conversation in the nighttime

Here was the comic I was yapping about :D.

It got too long so I had to split it into two parts.

HOPY MACKEREL!!!!! I need to ramble about this and it’s too long to fit into the tags so HERE WE GO!

First up: I adore all the little references to things (the public humiliation foundation and Picani are the ones I noticed) and the little doodles on the mirror. The red sticky note saying ‘STOP EATING MY TOOTHPASTE’ with a simple :þ face next to it is gold, and the little heart in the bottom right next to the cloud is adorable.

2th: the blotchy, watercolour-esqe brushes that you use for colouring are so pretty to look at, it genuinely gives everything so much character and depth.

Number third: I LOVE THAT YOU CAN SIMULTANEOUSLY SEE HIS ARM IN THE MIRROR AND HIS HAND OUTSIDE OF IT WHEN HE’S TURNING ON THE FAUCET! That’s so cool and genuinely what makes shots with mirrors in it so cool, that you can see what the mirror can’t.

4rd: HOLY COLOURS!!!! The way my eye is immediately drawn to his eye, and then only when I’m done absorbing that then I can look around at everything else. Amazing job pulling attention to the focus of the drawing.

Letter 5: I love the orange silhouette in the mirror. And JanUS’ SNAKE EYE BEING WIDE OPEN THE WHOLE TIME!!!! Snakes don’t have eyelids, so they can’t blink or squint or do anything of that sort, so it makes me so so so happy to see a Janus design utilizing that.

6st: ohhhhh I adore that shot of just his eye and Logan being reflected in it. Can that eye see lies/things purposefully hidden? Is that what’s happening?

Serpentine: ohh the n.e.r.d is another reference to my negative thinking! I really need to rewatch the early episodes lol.

Eighth: that shot with Janus partially in shadow is amazing.

Ninety-nine: OUGH THAT LAST FRAME. I LOVE THE GLITCHING ON ‘HE’ AND JANUS FACIAL EXPRESSION!!!!!

All in all, absolutely stunning comic and amazing dialogue. 11/10 would read again. (and probably will!)

(Yes u are absolutely correct. It’s a headcanon of mine that Janus’ snake eye can see what people aren’t telling him (but it doesn’t always work, like how not everyone can tell when other people are lying, Janus (as Thomas’ deceit), can’t always tell either).)

I think the sides get violent. Like, occasionally, depending on circumstances. I think they definitely can fight if they have to. (Also because I’m a sucker for dramatic fight scenes, and- as an older sibling- drawing this was somewhat cathartic :3).
