Clearly they're in love with them" I don't know if you guys have ever Had Friends but it's actually pretty common for people to feel jealous if their best friend suddenly has less time for them and is prioritising someone they just met over them. That's not inherently romantic, that's the general human desire to be valued by the people you value.

"so we got married over christmas"- they were playing pretend with freja who made them get married to stuffed animals

"my mum walked in on us in bed together"- they were still awake on their phones when kath went into their room to fill their christmas stockings "dan kissed another man on new years eve"- dan was holding a gingerbread man in his hand at 11:58 and jokingly kissed it (this leads into them being Vague and Weird about what they were doing at midnight because they're not quite there yet)

"we almost broke up last week"- they had a minor argument and didn't make up for 2 hours
