Hey friends!!
It's been a while since I posted any kind of real update, but to be perfectly honest - I've been super busy! The last few months have been exciting, terrifying, daunting, a ton of work and a load of planning for some big changes.
Between my regular day job, preparation for MWFF, the holidays, end of the year busywork, getting ready to move, and general life injections of little problems into my schedule (like a dead car battery adventure, new health issues, and scheduling problems with my job), I haven't had much time! It gets really rough for me this time of year because of mental health conditions, and 2014 wasn't my best year for my physical health, either. I discovered a lot of issues and spent a lot of time, effort, and research trying to make sure I was taking care of myself. In the winter that's gotten difficult to balance with my mental health along with all of my other responsibilities, and I'm sad to say I've been kind of absent as a result of that! It's the start of a new year, though, and like I said, there are a lot of changes ahead that I'm excited about and feeling ready to tackle.
This month is going to continue to be a busy one, but hopefully I'll be able to be a little more active now that I don't have the holidays hanging over my head, or any conventions coming too immediately. If you got something during MWFF that hasn't been mailed to you yet, I'll be shipping everything out within the next two weeks, depending mainly on my ability to make a trip to the post office! I'm working six days this week and have an appointment to run some tests related to a health issue on my only day off, so I only can't promise it'll be sooner because of that! I promise anyone waiting will receive notification from me once their stuff is in the mail, though.
The last batch of Polyvore/fashion commissions has been completed and those will be uploaded once I have time to go over all of the final touches and changes, but that should be rather quick since I can work around my work schedule with that!
With all of that taken care of, my art-related queue is nearly empty, which is a nice way to start off the year. I'll be doing Valentine's Day cards again this year, which I'll open for once the Polyvore commissions are uploaded and the MWFF things are sent out - so if you're interested, keep an eye out! I'll need all the help I can get, funds-wise, for the upcoming move.
Thanks for reading all of that! I threw together a couple of doodles from the past year that never got posted just as a "hey-i'm-sorry-for-kinda-disappearing-but-thanks-for-sticking-with-me" junkpile. Anyway, I hope you are all doing well! Do any of you have new year's resolutions or things you'd like to see happen this year? Throwback Monday Evening??? I guess?? This is almost a year old now but it's one of my favourite badges I've ever down for myself. Utena means a lot to me and a lot of the symbolism and imagery is very personally significant. If you've seen the show the whole way through, everything should pretty much make sense. It was also meant to mirror a badge that my friend Tent made herself of her character dressed as Anthy. Also I really enjoy drawing Andry in cosplay, even though I've never actually cosplayed myself, haha. On Weasyl: (x)

I couldn't not reblog this!! My best friend Ren did some INCREDIBLE pieces for me of our characters together, and I am IN LOVE with these!! She's currently open for commissions like this so you should definitely hit her up if you're in the market, they're truly wonderful and she follows prompts with a lot of style and personal flair. I love all of the references she made to things that I love so dearly. If you can spot em all, we'd probably be good friends. (Also wow sorry for the abundance of tags...)
Throwback Thursday passed me up and I didn't even notice!! Oops. Well it's still Thursday in other timezones, so here's some sketchpages! The first is one I did a year ago for my roommate, Flir. It features a really early version of my witch cat character, Newt, and the scribbley catlanguage text is actually really easy to decipher if you're interested in what it says, haha. The second is from 2012 and is a zoo-themed sketchpage! Also for Flir, of course. The third is from just a few months ago (last December) and features a tf sequence of Flir's rabbit character turning into Max from the Country Bear Jamboree! I really enjoy doing things like this with a lot of character interaction, and transformation sequences are incredibly fun to draw and play with. I've gotten better at them over time and I'd love more chances to play with them in the future!
I really just wanted to draw myself as a Magical Girl because the witchsona stuff had me thinking a lot about Powers. I was born in the year of the Horse, so my fixed element through that is Fire. I'm also a Sagittarius, so, uh, more horses and more fire. I'm basically a Rapidash but that's not the point. I really enjoy heat and fire and summer and warm colours, I have red hair and brown eyes, I don't like the cold. Fire is DEFINITELY my element. So I just wanted Magical Girl me to embody that. Also included a tiny firey feral Andry spaniel for my Magical Talking Animal Companion. I'm still trying to find the best way to draw humans in my style so bear with me, haha. I like this a lot though! (I always cheat and draw myself from this side because I really like drawing my hair, oops.) Original: x
I really want to fill up this blog a little more since I've only uploaded new things, but I figured it'd be worth it to do some posts with older stuff, too! I want to start off by doing a couple of character posts, so here's the first one - Andry! Andry is currently my main fursona/character/avatar/what-have-you. She started out as just being a side dogsona thing but I kind of fell in love with her, and she looks the most like me out of all of my characters (just, y'know, a dog).
