i don't know what it is but something about the 1987 maurice film was soo alluring to me, despite being as boring as it was (especially on the first watch). there wasn't much that felt very memorable to me, save for the ending. maybe it was just how it handled silent intimacy and themes about the lack of words and talking that pulled me into another rewatch. then i remembered risley and his dialogue of "one must talk, talk, talk" and it just speaks to me. idk, i love boring queer films cuz there's so much that can happen even in quiet, still moments, and despite the muteness there exists a kind of pressure that breaks people into their truest forms. i love silence
clive durham character of all time. he starts out the story fagging his way up and making maurice have a sexuality crisis then proceeds to go to greece and come back... straight??? he then gets an ugly mustache and becomes a repressed gay politician while maurice gets to shag rupert graves. he sucks and i hate him
(he is my favorite character)
had a dream last night and i don’t remember any part of it except wherever i was a song was playing on the radio called “just like randy johnson.” it was about how if your love was unrequited you could tell your feelings to a bird and it would explode. just like randy johnson
pitch grips
Being a flop changed my life. The world is not my oyster, I am glowing. I walked into a pole this morning. There's very little I wouldn't do for $1,000
