I went to a local con in the past 2 days and:

- Kpop Demon Hunters is really popular among little kids. The first day there was a Kpop Demon Hunters event and we had an invasion of mini Huntrix and mini Jinu. At some point a group of adult Huntrix cosplayers has took a photo with a group of mini Huntrix. It was lovely.

- There was a man with his daughter. The man was in his 50s, the daughter was 20-25 years old. She wasn't a cosplayer. He WAS a cosplayer and he was cosplaying as... Vincent Whittman. Cosplay completed with squared glasses, sharks are cool pin and meteo wand with a thunder on top🤣 Now I wonder if the cosplay was his daughter's request or if he has watched the show.

once i was presenting research at a conference where everyone who received money from a specific grant had to go to basically be like “and here’s what we’re doing with your money.”

and there was a team there presenting on astrophysics and I truly barely understood a thing they said. my team was there to talk about salamander eDNA, and the juxtaposition between Space Math and swabbing salamanders with cotton-tips just struck me as deeply funny.

Later some of the Space people came by and asked us all about the salamanders and one of them said, “I can’t imagine working with animals and water. It’s all so messy. I don’t know how you stay sane with those variables?”

And I was like, “dude I didn’t even know the math you talked about today even existed.”

And we were both just like 🤝 “love your work. huge fan. I’d rather die than do it though.”

For clarification's sake, is this true everywhere? I ask because I know that different countries have different quality home electricity provision; American home electricity Ain't Great compared with most of Europe, for example. In Wales I have never heard of this being a Thing, but our electricity comes in 240V flavour, so possibly the higher current naturally avoids this issue?

My British husband (not an electrician but electrician-adjacent) says yes this is true in the UK as well - anything that uses a lot of power should be plugged directly into the wall rather than an extension lead

This one where Rumi sings Takedown when she’s feeling like shit and the girls have to help her to feel like she deserves love, Y’know, the usual type Polytrix stuff.

This really really old WIP where Rumi starts freaking out over how some haters are talking about her patterns and she gets PTSD flashbacks or something, it’s unclear.

M&Ms but they’re almost all gay and trans. I don’t wanna explain that one further, but someone tagged me in it a long time ago and I’ve been procrastinating on it because I’m worried I(a cis girl) will portray the Trans Experience badly or be a duck about something accidentally.

There’s this absolutely MONSTROUSLY long WIP where Zoey gets bit by a werewolf in America that I had made into a continuation of a fic that originally started as a one shot of Rumi getting kidnapped by the Saja Boys and getting muzzled(I’m really proud of that one actually) and so basically all the girls are going through it in that world. Also Zoey jumps. WHO SAID THAT?!

I totally didn’t have to search through all my junk for like multiple hours just to find my WIPs. It only took HALF an hour! (It took so long to post this because I had to go do other things.)

Piedmont will have absolutely no clue how to handle Post-Weirdmaggedon Dipper and Mabel.

The neighborhood kids play hide and seek and they’re hanging out on some random roof. You can’t beat them if you can’t reach them, suckas.

They’re outside every hour of the day. Literally. If you happen to be outside at two in the morning you might find them mid-magic hunt. Why not? Ford always said to take advantage of your insomnia for science.

Once some teenagers performing some weird Halloween hazing the Pines kids absolutely wrecked them. They literally have no chill.

For that matter, if you look Mabel in the eye, rumors say, you immediately have to play a game of cards with her. Never take pocket change anywhere near their street.

The pig goes with them. That’s final.

They say Dipper Pines has a six pack. They say he’s shredded. They saw he’s got a scar across the belly from fighting off a pack of wolves with his fists.

All the doors in the world are open if you know how to pick locks… Not that they’re saying they can. That’s implementing themselves in multiple unsolved crimes, and that would be stupid.

HUNTR/X is connected through the Honmoon. We know this, we love this, THIS IS NEVER EXPLORED ENOUGH. In the plane scene alone, there are so many things that the girls do that make it so it seems like the Honmoon connects them in more ways than are explored in the movie.

Rumi launches a kettle at Mira like it's nothing, and without even turning around Mira grabs it and beats the crap out of a demon. Then Mira chucks it to Zoey, who then fills her girls cups without even slowing down.

I think the girls have slowly been becoming more and more connected as the years go on. When they started, they couldn't work together at all. They kept tripping over each other, and Celine was worried. She knew she could tell where her partners were no matter what was happening.

It starts slow. Mira reaches out to catch Zoey without looking, and quickly adjusts her position. It's subtle, but Celine sees it. She knows the Honmoon sees it too with the way it hums in satisfaction. She knows then that the girls are going to be fine.

It happens so gradually that the girls never notice it. They just assume that their teamwork is getting better. They assume that because they've been working together for so long, they just know when one of them is feeling down.

It takes years for Mira and Zoey to understand why they feel the Honmoon pulling them towards Rumi. They feel a soft twinge of shame every time they comment on a demons patterns. They feel like their throats are closing every time Takedown comes on.

After the Idol Awards, the girls go talk to Celine. She's shocked they don't know, but she also knows her girls are dense as hell, so she explains that the Honmoon links their souls. That's why when Rumi started singing at the Saja Boys concert, Mira and Zoey were the first to react.

That's also the reason why most hunters end up in a relationship with each other. It's easy for them to be together because their souls are almost one with each others. It's easy to live together because you always know what to do and how to help.

Socmed au, but it's just Rumi running a stan account for Zoey and Mira and an anti account for herself, and it's weirdly infamous. Anyone who likes Huntr/x and it mildly online knows about it, there's video essays analyzing the account and it all boils down to "wtf is bro's problem with Rumi"

Meanwhile, Rumi is having the time of her life coping with her self-hatred in a funny way
