Thank you for joining!

It's been a while! I'll fully admit that part of me totally forgot to make this post.

I've amazing work by everyone who joined in. My thanks goes out to everyone who did their piece on time and the amazing rematchers who put out not one but TWO amazing pieces. Thank you guys SO much.

As for how it went for me;

It was a task. A fun task, but a task none the less. I learned a lot from it like

  • Adding the option to NOT be matched with someone for whatever reason. I went around asking everyone this personally in 2020 and it was a huge effort.
  • Asking for examples of work in the questionnaire. Like the point above I went to everyone personally which took way too much effort ; w ;
  • This may be a two or three person effort, rather than one.

I also thank feusus and skekheck for the gorgeous pieces they did for me as a thank you [I wasn't sure if you guys were comfortable with a tag] but I'm REALLY grateful and they made me cry happy tears. You didn't have to but you did anyway and I'm so so so so so thankful for them both ; w ;!

As for now?

Everyone who didn't make a piece, ignored the rules or were rather vocal about their... disappointment in what they got will be banned from any future events like this. I'm sorry but it was really hard to tell people that they had to wait longer. There were rules and regulations and I checked in many times to see if you needed help or an extension.

I think I rematched everyone but if you didn't get anything feel free to DM me @poultry-blocks and i'll figure something out!

As for now; enjoy your upcoming summer <3 Stay nice to each other, keeping pouring love into this fandom and I'll see you sometime, very soon!

Be Nicer

Honestly.

The reactions to my last message [see last post] left me physically ill on how RUDE some people chose to be. 

I am ONE person doing this for almost 150 strangers and the way some of you CHOSE to react to me is baffling. Being mean and rude is a choice and many of you chose to be it.

I’m sorry if your Santa hasn’t made something. I’m sorry that you have to wait a few days more. But this isn’t my fault.  I screened people as best as I could. I’m sorry you were matched with someone you hate. I’m sorry you felt the need to misgender me too. 

I am not making this post with the mindset of woe is me but honestly? Be better in how you chose to talk to be people.

I’m gonna be away till Wednesday. Cause I can’t deal with this right now. 

For the update;
Many people are still working on it and expect it to be done by Monday. I’ll make a list of people who still need a gift on Wednesday bc that’ll be my only day off this week.

Hello everyone!

I hope that everyone is doing well! I keep seeing amazing things and I’ve come with an update;

The deadline is now Saturday 12-12!

Basically a lot of people are sick at work (15 on average) and we’re all working extremely hard to fill in the gaps they left. I wish for their quick recovery.

Because i am only one person doing this I can’t do the check tomorrow. But Saturday should work for me!

In the meantime;

  • Though you should have been tagged, check the general tag ‘TDC secret Santa 2020’ if you didn’t miss it.
  • If you already received your gift; thank your Santa! Preferably via reblog/retweet.
  • If you’re still busy; good! You still have time! If you can’t make the deadline please DM me.
  • Finally; if you didn’t get anything then I’ll fully understand your disappointment, but try to remain positive. I got a whole bunch of regifters who want to help out!

As a side note; I am not a judge. I keep seeing amazing work being made but it’s up to you, if you’re happy to serve it; serve it! I only host this event and help if you’re stuck, the gift is for the person you are gifting to, not me!

I fully know this comment was made in jest but I wish to clarify; 

I do this event, that got way bigger than I thought it would be, in my lunch breaks and on my train ride to and from work. I have nothing against art or fiction of this kind, hell, I even create it so it would be hypocritical of me to say otherwise, but there is something like a time and a place. I don’t expect to see skeksis-dicks during my lunch break. I don’t want to. My co-workers or other travellers don’t want to either. Yes, we social distance, but my screen is big and people can see. 

It’s also common curtesy to not send anything of this nature without checking if the other person is okay with it first. Pornography is fine, and gifting things of that nature is allowed when your giftee is okay with it but it’s all about consent.

Which is why I added that point, thank you. 

I am still more than happy to do it but please, respect my boundaries.

Welcome to the TDC fandom’s 2020 Secret Santa Event!

Nothing is more fun than sharing some holiday cheer and thus I decided to organise a Secret Santa Event. Hopefully we get lots of sign-ups and have a great time within the fandom. Please read this ENTIRE post before filling the form. 

Rules: 

  • All creative media is allowed, fan fiction, fan art, edits, videos, what else you can come up with. You decide what you create for your match! 
  • Do not submit anything you didn’t personally create. [Example; other people’s work, edits with fanart, etc.] 
  • Please do not spend any real money on anyone during this event. This is a creative exchange. 
  • This event is open to anyone. 
  • Please be respectful towards one another. 
  • While not a rule; it helps to reblog this post so the word gets out so it would be much appreciated. 

Other Information:

  • The form will open from now till November 1st 2020.
  • The deadline to submit your work is December 10th 2020. 
  • Matches are 100% random. With the info you give me in the form I will try match on preferences with characters but it’s entirely possible you match with someone you never met. 
  • Matches cannot be swapped. 
  • If for some reason, you really cannot create something for your match please let me know within 24 hours after I matched you.
