The thing about bad buddy brain rot is that there are other brain rots out there. There is stuff that bewitches you mind body and soul. There are new things that you live love and feel that giddy over and it WILL feel unique and special and change you. But at some point you will compare it to bad buddy. You'll think about how the brain rot compares to bad buddy. You'll make parallels to bad buddy. You'll talk about how it deals with things differently. It will be its own unique thing. But bad buddy will still be on your mind one way or another

I don't want grand gestures.

I watched bad buddy insane amount of times. And today I was rewatching (as one should!) ep 9 and I observed a detail I never did before. In the scene where they are on the bench Pat offers to post that Pran and him broke up if it gets Wai to talk to him and Pran slowly pulls Pat's hand away from his phone. Remember that scene??

So what caught my attention was Ohm's acting choice right after Pran releases his hand

See?? See how he rubs his hand.

By this time we know that PatPran aren't "officially" dating for that long. This is a very new relationship. Sure they had the best era but that's mostly flirting and riling each other and each other to the edge. And they touched many times before to fight and push around. But this not that kind of touch. Here Pran's touch is very soft. Very emotional. He's trying to convey many things. And it's a sudden touch. Pat wasn't expecting his hand to be held. As soon as Pran held his hand Pat's hand got that tingling feeling which you'll get when the person u love the most touches you. They aren't familiar with each other's touches yet. Not in this way anyway. So I think that's the reason Pat rubs his hands, he likes Pran so much that his touch made his hand tingle.

I caught up so much in the way they are trying to emotionally adjust to each other in this scene that I almost forgot they might be trying to physically adjust too like any new relationship. The same way Pran reacts when Pat takes his hand right outside his dorm for the first time asking for a sweet moment as boyfriends.

Pran it's just lying there PINING, listening to Pat talk about his positive qualities and how he wonders if Ink likes him back.

That tear was in the corner of Pran's eye during Pat's whole monologue.

Ugh. I forgot how painful this part was.

Ah, I would know these two anywhere. And we're all still stuck on that rooftop missing them...

When my dorm crush bunked over (yes, it really did happen) I went through the same, sweet pain that Pran in BBS did, glancing over thinking—knowing—that there could never be anything more than a platonic friendship between us.

That deep and painful longing, the quiet suffering while you feel so alone in the world, those silent tears in the darkness – ah yes, all old friends whom I know so well. 🥲

"I hung packets of food on my dorm crush's door handle"– TRUE

As oddly specific as this experience is, it's also one I share. 😂

Dorm Crush and I used to help each other out whenever either one of us was delayed by things (sports practice, rehearsals, faculty project work, whatever) and couldn't make it back to the university hostel before mealtime was over (yes, meals were included with our room and board, with no opting out). The one who could make the meal hours would get his buddy's meal packed, and then pop over to his room and hang it outside the door.

It wasn't really a romantic thing (no khanom jeep or khanom thong yod for us 🤣), though we did leave each other little notes with the food. (And mine were always laced with undercurrents of emotion, mostly opaque to DC I think, unfortunately.) So I did feel a little twinge of painful nostalgia watching PatPran do something kind of similar in Bad Buddy. 🤩

Waaaay back when I was single, there was this one time when I had a little fun with a cute guy on a public breakwater by the sea.

But unlike what we see in the scene above, it was bright daylight, I was sober, we weren't exactly fully-clothed, and while a good time was had by both – we didn't kiss. 🤣

Lots of things still remind me of bad buddy, but a few specific things

Bets, deals and fist bumps - in dramas, in real life, I always think oooh we are patpraning here haha

Annnd also seaweed snacks. It's when I understood Pran was a true freak and I love him for it.

It's a cruel thing to make me choose a single thing because this show has consumed me entirely and made itself home in every neuron in my brain. Random things remind me of bad buddy out of nowhere. Like recently I saw something related to Pokemon I thought PatPran might have competed on who could memorize more Pokemons.

But if I had to choose one I'd pick Beaches.

I've never been to one but every time someone mentions it I remember our boys playing in water

Or sitting side by side in comfortable silence

And the whole ep 11 made bad buddy and beaches inseperable to me. So every time someone mentions beaches I'm back thinking about these two away from everything, where they can be themselves for a while and not having to constantly watch their backs.

Lmao this seems more like a rant 😂
