Okay folx, last chance to back the Misbehavin’ Maidens’ 3rd Album Kickstarter! It ends May 10 at 10 p.m. EDT! We are a 100% indie, self-funded band.

The album we’re funding, “Swearing is Caring,” is full of wonderfully nerdy, feminist, LGBTQIAP+-inclusive comedy music, plus a lot of swearing, because #Big2019Mood, y'all.

It’s got songs about libraries, anxiety, what not to say after sex, mansplaining, catcalling, Star Trek, Harry Potter, and more.

Because we’ve met stretch goals, everyone who backs the Kickstarter gets bonus stuff, too:

‘Maenad’ - Apora Poe, cleric of Dionysus

I had wanted to try a full-on Baroque/Renaissance style portrait, so Apora is depicted as a Maenad, pouring out her wine as libations for her god, Dionysus. She is based on a painting by the Flemish Baroque artist Peter Paul Rubens, and I learned a lot about digital painting in doing this picture.

As an r/characterdrawing inspired piece, the the original prompt is here . Painting Apora has certainly made me think that some day I would love to play a campaign based on Ancient Greek mythology.

Searching for a Fic

Doctor Who fanfic readers and writers of Tumblr, please lend me your knowledge. I'm in search of a DW fic I read maybe 2 or 3 years back, I believe on Archive of Our Own, but lost the link to and can't remember the title or author. I really liked it and was hoping to find and reread. Hoping someone else may remember it. What I know: -Doctor/River -The Doctor takes River to an alien planet around the time of a special yearly festival. -A big part of the festival is releasing these paper lanterns/candles high into the atmosphere while thinking about someone. -The lanterns are supposed to come back down in the presence of that person. -Towards the end River finds out the Doctor has been coming back for centuries of this festival and sending them, then is completely shocked to find out they're all for her as hundreds (some really old and worn) rain down around her. I haven't been able to find this story again, so if you remember it and have a link please send it my way? Thank you! Sincerely, A Shameless Fic Fan

That’s all right! Understood.

As for the other two...I can answer as long as you don’t mind me taking creative liberty in my handling to adjust for the character and my own comfort level (and again, avoiding difficulties in the prop department). That’s what I was gonna do anyway since I couldn’t be sure I’d be able to have an OOC convo beforehand. Though it’d be brief in that sense. Because that sort of thing I tend to stay away from, mostly because comfort level but also partly because it doesn’t really allow me anything to do otherwise, you know? ._.;;

I really appreciate your encouragement with the blog even with all the downtime I’ve had and I’m super excited to still have people to interact with. I can’t guarantee I’ll always be comfortable responding to every scenario exactly, but as long as we’re on the same page with that, feel free to keep throwing stuff my way and I’ll do my best.

Oh good, I’d actually been hoping I’d be able to ask about that one. What type are you referring to? Because the usual American definition of the word would be kinda impossible to fake (plus especially strange/silly so I was doubting you meant that). The British definition is a bit easier to obtain, but if you meant something different I didn’t want to go poking the Doctor to borrow a pair unnecessarily. xD

Definitely gimme a few days if that’s okay. My apartment building hasn’t switched over to air conditioning yet so the heat is still blowing and it’s pretty miserable. Being half-melted never works well on camera. >_>;

DO NOT MODULATE THE KEY OF THE BLACKFACE IN COSPLAY DEBATE TO SERVE YOUR OWN PERSONAL INTERESTS! WHITE PEOPLE CAN COSPLAY HAMILTON AS LONG AS THERE IS NO SKIN DARKENING!

Let me repeat that one more time for these wannabe Samuel Seabury’s:

WHITE PEOPLE CAN COSPLAY HAMILTON AS LONG AS THERE IS NO SKIN DARKENING! WE PEOPLE OF COLOR SHOULD WELCOME RACIALLY PROGRESSIVE WHITE FOLKS INTO THE FANDOM, NOT KEEP THEM AWAY! HAMILTON IS TEACHING RACIAL ACCEPTANCE, WHY ARE Y'ALL TRYING TO STOP THIS BY POLICING COSPLAY?!?!
