Dick, you can't just dump Damian with Tim's team and expect them to just accept him. Especially after Tim told them all about him. Like, what did you expect??

ngl I always have to scream a little into my hands about this. dick wanting damian to have friends/support/the trust and family he found as a teen titan - yes understandable. shoving him onto a titans team where fully half the roster are tim's oldest friends: what what WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? 😱

good intentions on dick's part but questionable decision-making imo. like it turned out alright fortunately but woof. if you think damian could use more trusted friends then identify some people you think could work and approach them in particular - like raven or rose who you have a rapport with already and know might understand damian's difficult background. don't just toss him on a team and expect tim's friends to help socialize him. that shouldn't be their responsibility, and it's unfair to damian to throw him into a group that is going to be biased against him

it's impressive cassie/kon/bart held it together like they did tbh like they were actually pretty neutral to damian's face. the few pointed comments were very tame. and actually damian was also pretty restrained (for him) except for right at the start, I don't fault any of them tbh

separately I do also find kinda yikes the implication that dick might not have even chatted with tim about this whole idea in advance? re: tim's “damian what are you doing there?” and damian's “I… it was grayson's idea” when tim called the tower.

like dick. did you learn nothing about communicating with your family 😭 why are you letting tim get surprised like this again. this is how you get readers who come away with the idea that dick is clueless and/or inconsiderate during this period smh.

tim was remarkably chill about it actually and it did work out fine but oooohhhh it could have blown up in so many ways, I just wince at dick every single time

something that i love about dickdonnaroy is that i think at one time or another they have all put each other in the torment nexus by forcing one person to be the go-between for the remaining two. dick as weary donnaroy relationship counselor. donna having to conduct full scale investigations into dickroy weirdness. roy loudly proclaiming he’s not getting in the middle of Wonder Twins World War 3, except he has to keep talking to both of them, so he already is

okay but imagine people being baffled by dickroy & donnakory because everyone's like "don't you get jealous? you're dating your best friend's ex?" meanwhile donna & dick are texting each other saying shit like "kory looked radiant like the sun today" and dick is saying "so true" and donna is saying "dick, it's no good to anyone if your emergency medical contact is always sharing the hospital room with you. do you even know how long it took us to get here" and dick is telling her "but he said i was afraid of commitment. me, donna!" and kory is saying "honey, you are" and dick is grumbling "well, fine, you can say that but roy can't" and roy is livetexting donna dick's recovery-induced-breakdown saying "today, he solved 4 cold cases before i had to bring out the big guns" and donna replies "aw! kory says lian looks like a flower on tamaran" and kory is texting dick "do you think donna will believe me if i say i burned terry's old sweatshirt by accident" and dick says "i'll come over and take the blame for free. fuck terry"

Not only was Dick the guy that helped Roy get Lian back in the first place,

Which led to a frankly unreasonable amount of cat fights with Roy’s ex over Roy and Lian,

And Dick actually being the guy to retrieve Lian against all probable odds (not only the fact that he literally had to move heaven and earth to get her but the “I never thought you’d help me after I lied to you” 😭 😭)

And not only did Dick literally go to Ireland with Roy to help him figure shit out,

But like… look at him.

That man’s an unc. No question. No debate. Uncwing is canon.

Since Lian used to live with Roy in the Titans Tower my brain got stuck on the combination of:

do we ever see heroes show up to seek help from friends/colleagues only to stop short and try to heel-turn bc oops they're clearly injured? because that would be hilarious, like

Here's some fun Teen Titans redesigns I did for the heck of it. I'm still working on Blackfire, and I am hoping to get around to some of the others. I know the roster of characters I have right now doesn't make any particular type of sense. But I just started drawing the characters that I like to draw and let it grow from there :)

OKAY SO from what i can remember:

- there’s a running gag that Donna is constantly on the phone with Dick, like she’s even on a date at some point and is like “okay I have to go”

- it’s addressed that Donna’s mentor Diana wasn’t really as present for her as some of the (male) Teen Titans’ mentors were for them. also that Diana is more of an older sister figure to Donna than a father figure like many of the Titan dudes’ mentors are to them.

- Donna’s perfectionism and overachiever nature also important

- also that Donna being the adopted daughter of the Queen of the Amazons and the sister of Wonder Woman plays into how perfect she feels like she has to be

- Jiminez also said something about really liking how “girly” Donna is “in the best way possible,” like she’s kind of a Sex in the City type girl
