hi, i'm Dawn! aka. certified dingus

Finally have a Clark design I'm happy with! His skeleton and general anatomy are a bird human mix! Explanations of speculative biology under the cut (+ a meme)

vagueposting about vagueposting would just be ironic and would make me a hypocrite but. but genuinely. genuinely you guys for your own sake do you know how much happier you'll be and how much better your online experience will be if you just block and scroll past posts that you don't like instead of jumping on them to be a condescending elitist dick for no reason at all

He had a sharp-eyed charm that left the weak-willed dazzled and the strong-willed suspicious. He was dragon in all passable ways – fierce, defensive of his charitable interests – and yet failed to impress in others. He had no hoard; there was no evidence, on camera or in a witness account, of him ever having shifted.

Everyone who met him walked away with a shiver of something down their spine, uncertain what it meant. Thomas Wayne had set off the soft, human instincts and soothed them in the same breath, so visibly dragon – and apologetic, at points – as to be disarming.

Bruce Wayne apologized for nothing. He simply was. His teeth were sharp, his eyes even sharper, and he stared at those with opposing interests in a way that conveyed his delight in their confusion. In their inability to believe their own eyes and senses when that drowsy, long-disused human survival instinct woke in the back of their minds at the sound of his voice.

"Rings" by ND Stevenson

My absolute favourite comic journal by Stevenson. Made me cry my eyes out. Even when I can't articulate it, it gets to the core of what I think love is.

older clark x younger bruce is funny to me sometimes cause bruce would be the one to find himself a silver fox who has super strength and insane stamina and have him stay like that until he himself is a silver fox. his greed sickens me.

I think what might help the whole "low engagement in fandom spaces driving creatives out because they don't see the point in sharing anything only to get crickets or critics" is not the shaming tone of "look this is how you get nothing, you entitled shits" that tends to be very pervasive, but rather pointing out how actually rewarding it can be to leave nice comments.

I like to leave very long rambling comments on people's fics and that has actually netted me some very real, genuine friendships and we've become cheerleaders for each other. My friend has a D&D Podcast that she doesn't get ANY sort of engagement out of, so I started listening to it at work and livereacting the things I enjoy about it and showing her my investment and it makes her very happy and it makes me happy that she's happy.

Being nice to people... is actually a good enough reason to do things, shockingly enough. You don't have to do it. No one should shame you for not doing it. But it doesn't actually cost anything to make other people happy, especially if they created something that made you happy.

Jon getting an A on the important spelling test at school and after he told his parents when they picked him up, he immediately calls Uncle Bruce to brag too.

"Good job, kiddo," Uncle Bruce tells him, and Jon can't stop smiling for the rest of the day.

Sick Jon being dropped at the Manor by Clark because both he and Lois are busy and Bruce already has a sick kid in his care(Damian, who spread the virus to Jon in the first place), so he agrees to take Jon too.

He puts the boys in one bed and checks on the frequently, and when they feel better, he joins them and watches animal documentaries with them.

Clark finds all three asleep when he comes pick up Jon in the evening. Jon is snuggled under Bruce's arm, looking very content, so Clark just tells Alfred he'll come back in the morning.

Jon being taken on rides with his Uncle Bruce, who has so many cool and fast cars that Uncle Bruce even lets him drive.

"Just don't tell your old man," Uncle Bruce warns him(Clark knows, he heard them conspiring about it).

Uncle Bruce helping Jon with homework.

Uncle Bruce teaching Jon how to repair an engine.

Uncle Bruce taking Jon to the baseball game and buying him all the junk food.

Uncle Bruce coming with Damian to Smallville for Christmas, and Jon sits in his Uncle's lap while presents are being shared.

Uncle Bruce hugging Jon and telling him everything will be alright when Jon cries in his arms while having a rough time in his life.
