To me, the whole fanon Buck vs canon Buck discourse boils down to... fanon Buck is allowed to have developed in the way he was and should have been allowed to continue developing into a fully functional adult. He's the Buck we extrapolate from his history.
Canon Buck is the lazy storytelling ABC keeps feeding us because they don't want to commit to actual narrative storytelling and want to keep telling the same story over and over again and Tim Minear hates character development so Buck will be 50 still acting like he's 26.
Which Buck is more real? Heck, which Buck is more compelling?
