AWOIAF Trans Prompt Fest 2026 is a prompt even devoted to fic about trans characters for A Song of Ice and Fire and Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin and related televised adaptations Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

TIMELINE

  • Prompting period: January 8 - February 15
  • Works due: April 6
  • Reveals: April 7-11

FAQ

1. What does “fic about trans characters” mean?

It has to feature a trans character in some way. That's it! Parameters are broad here.

2. Can I add a prompt?

Please do! Each AO3 account can submit up to 10, and you can submit anonymously if you’d like.

3. How do I sign up?

No sign up; simply submit your work to the collection by filling the related prompt by the deadline.

4. How do reveals work?

You can fill a prompt anytime between now and April 6. All works will be unrevealed until April 7, and over the course of that week revealed at a staggered pace for people to read, enjoy, comment upon, etc.

5. Can I post my fic as a WIP?

If you have a first chapter by the deadline and want to submit it and continue it after the fest ends, totally fine.

6. My fic is a sequel or follow up to an already posted fic; can I submit that?

Absolutely!

7. Is there a minimum word count?

Nope! Drabbles and ficlets welcomed.

8. Are there any content restrictions?

Nope, we simply ask you correctly tag your fic (including ‘Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings.’)

9. I want to draw art/make an edit for a prompt instead of writing fic

Go for it! If you post to social media instead of AO3, just tag us here or on Twitter so we can share.

10. I have another question not covered here, how can I get in touch?
