what are all the possible timelines or routes of Axetale
There are three endings to Axetale, only one of them considered canon. The others are semi canon, or in other words: they are possibilities that could happen.
Neutral Route (canon)- this route will be going by as accurate as possible to the ending Bananafrappe intended (a bitter sweet ending). I cannot give any further details on this as of now
Mercy Route- the genocide route of Axetale. Chara manages to convince Aliza to genocide the remaining denizens of the underground to end their suffering with merciful euthanasia. There isn’t much else to go over as of now, as this timeline is incomplete.
Savior route -the happiest possible ending for Axetale, and one of the most fleshed out endings for the AU as of now. After nearly getting herself killed fighting a hunger-corrupted Asriel, she manages to help him regain his sanity, and as a last act of redemption, Asriel uses all of his determination to end the hunger and break the barrier.
What’s interesting here is that Asriel didnt have the full power of 7 souls. He still had three of the remaining six souls that didn’t die yet, as well as three of the seven souls that didn’t escape Aliza’s soul jar when she fell. To make up for the seventh soul, he took Aliza’s familiars (Ruby and the white butterflies), and recreated a specific soul that would be able to join the living. Consequentially, once he released every soul he possessed, he would turn into a lifeless flower, for he had used all of his determination to create that one soul.
Despite this being a very happy ending, it’s still pretty grim. Monsterkind will be at the mercy of humanity once they find out about what had happened down there. Monsters would have to live with the trauma they received, many would be expected not to handle it. But hey! At least Aliza gets her Mom back!
