when he got tagged in a post comparing his work to buddie i did have to respect richard siken for taking a stance against that because i don't think anyone under any circumstances deserves to have their artistic output compared to a ryan murphy show. but it seems like he must’ve gotten such a rush from being semi-cancelled on twitter for 24 hours that he’s begun to dig himself into deeper and deeper holes in attempt to replicate that initial high
i just know some netflix execs are working overtime rn trying find a loophole in milly bobby brown’s contract so that they can haul her back to set and film an extra episode written by an ai trained exclusively on bluesky posts in the short time before everyone forgets about the entirety of stranger things in 2 weeks
on the one hand, netflix obviously didn’t actually film a secret final episode beforehand, and it would be ridiculously difficult for them to do so now. on the other hand, there is someone at hq crunching the numbers on this as we speak. and i hope they decide it’s worth it because this actually happening even once would set a hilarious precedent

i went off a medication recently that had apparently been suppressing my appetite for several years without me knowing. for the past two weeks now i have been so hungry for such specific foods all the time i’m starting to feel like a pregnant woman. i can’t stop eating sweet potato chips. last night i was so hungry i couldn’t sleep so i got up to make penne aka vodka at 11 pm
everything i see about heated rivalry amazes me because you can tell that a lot of effort and passion went into making a relatively well written, high quality tv adaptation of what is, as far as i can tell, just not a very good book
ppl keep mentioning ballet in the notes of my post and it’s reminding me of when i was rly into sports anime in hs and i wanted to write a manga about lesbian ballerinas. maybe i was ahead of the curve and it’s time for me to bring that back
they were kinda cutesies so i redrew them...
wip i will probably give up on but they are cute still
btw if you ever see me in your notes reblogging a post from several months to potentially years in the past, this is bc i use this website in a way i don't think anyone else on earth does. which is that i will like posts as a reminder to add them to my queue at a later point. and then i immediately forget about this for months at a time until i have several thousand likes piled up and my queue is basically empty. at which point i scroll back through my likes and queue a bunch of posts at once. why i do it this way i have no idea
my thing is that. if you want a lesbian version of heated rivalry. women’s sports (pwhl, wnba, etc)—where players have public relationships with each other irl—wouldn’t actually make good settings. imo a gay sports romance frequently works bc the main relationship is under pressure from the typically masculine & often homophobic environment. but women’s sports tend to be less traditionalist in this regard (bc women engaging in traditionally masculine activities is already comparatively subversive). so i guess what i’m saying is that, if you wanted a show about lesbians competing in a high pressure, physically demanding, traditionally north american activity. and you wanted to keep this spirit of subversion alive. it would have to be about competitive cheerleading
Q&A:
what about [ballet, ice skating, gymnastics, etc.]? sure. that would also work
you should watch [insert show/movie/book] i have not heard of that. maybe i will check it out
you should watch but i’m a cheerleader it’s a good movie but this is not what it’s about
you should watch glee i’d rather not
you know that homophobia is bad, right? yes. there are many things i am interested in seeing explored in fiction that i don’t condone in real life
why would you say that queer [sports] romances need homophobia in them to be good? i did not say that
why would you imply that female athletes don’t also experience homophobia? to be honest, i made this post expecting it to get 5 notes. i was mostly considering the fact that it is much more common for female professional athletes to be publicly out than their male counterparts. of course female athletes also experience homophobia
you are a bad person i don’t think that’s true
this isn’t funny that is correct 👍
