Coward. I wanna see that rats ribs
Bold words from a blank face. If you want to see it you can pick up a pencil and draw it yourself like everybody else.
My personal reasoning is I personally like seeing him happy and fed cause he’s in perpetual suffering the entire series. I draw what I want.
Guess who’s back
I think the part where we don’t realize Solavet is the villain and a furor or the horrific history of Regalia until basically the end and Gregor is powerless to do anything about it is very very important actually.
In a fan project adaptation when Gregor’s saying his goodbyes, I want him and Ripred to have a moment alone where the rat confirms he killed her. That in the end tyrants are still mortal and where he’s going they’re still nigh untouchable. He’s just a kid. It’s not on him yet. He can rest… For now. But remember what he learned down here.

The Underland Chronicles Worldbuilding: Regalian Calendar & Holidays
I've used old english and latin as the base for the language, an egyptian solar calendar for the cycles and added in nods to greek mythology/culture (that they would have picked up from the fliers). There are also influences from other cultures/holidays as well. I headcanon the Regalians developed them over time with influence from their neighbors, but the calendar itself was set in place by Sandwich.
I've added in a cultural significance to the number three. Their "seasons", holidays, traditions and rituals all revolve around the number or a multiple of it.

The Underland Chronicles Worldbuilding: Regalian Education and Life Stages
This all started as a discord chat with @overandunderland and then many many conversations with my wife on how the Regalians grew up and what stages were important/transformative for them. With war, famine & sickness so common, it's probably a pretty big deal for people to get to 20+ years. So I would imagine a lot more emphasis is put on preparing them younger for the world. Luxa mentions that the toddlers are trained how to fly on bats.
I think their society would be more apprenticeship based rather than formal standardized training for everyone. The only thing I think that would be required if able is the military training from 11-14. There's so many times they have to be prepared for an emergency, that it would just make sense that this is a common practice for them to have at least a couple years of basic training.

The Underland Chronicles Worldbuilding: Regalian Military
This one was fun to try and puzzle out. Regalia is so heavily militaristic, but they also need farmers. The math for how many divisions there would be, how many reserve soldiers would make sense and how they would be divided was so wild. My wife definitely helped with the logistics of this one.

The Underland Chronciles Worldbuilding: Regalia Y. 362 (Just before the Fall of Hesperides)
Definitely working on a fic that goes hand in hand with these reference materials. Needed to organize all my notes, opened canva, was extremely autistic for many many hours... bon appetit?
Just be aware when using any of this for your own reference, some events are canon and some are completely made up. Make sure you're fact checking before using it in your own work.
The Underland Chronicles Worldbuilding: Regalia Y. 372 (War of Time)
Most of this is actually canon, with a few changes (and additions as far as naming unnamed characters). The timeline is canon (minus the references to the Regalian calendar) and the Overland years listed (those are not confirmed) and birthdays (we know general time of year but not exact dates).
You can probably safely use the timeline as a canon reference.
Actually going to use this, thank you👏🏼❤️
