a neat Three Houses activity!! i saw this reposted on twitter and have been keeping up over there, so let's catch up here!
- i started seeing Dimitri fanart in august/september 2019. i'd never played any fire emblem game, nor did i even own a switch yet (looking back, i'm unsure if i'd even heard of fire emblem previously). i just thought Dimitri was gorgeous and all my favorite artists were drawing him so, so well. i was desperate to know who he was
- i saw tons of fanart in 2020 before noticing a few artists i deeply respected and admired were in @dimitrizine. i didn't know how else to buy their art at the time while also wanting to see more Dimitri. i ended up buying the full bundle and, before it had even arrived, received a copy of Three Houses for Christmas.
- Blue Lions. they all have such a special place in my heart
- Blue Lions, again. their relationships with one another are fascinating to me and everyone's motivations and backstories leave me thinking about them even after i set the game down.
- (is anyone even shocked) it's Azure Moon. Dimitri's descent into madness is heartbreaking, but his return from the ashes and back to reality coupled with his quest for atonement justice really impacted me. while i've never been to remotely the depths he has, Dimitri's character arc and journey resonate with me all the same.
- (again, to no one's surprise) Dimitri. my answer for question 5 sums up the bulk of it, so i'll talk about my two second favorites, Sylvain and Felix! they're both more than what they seem and their lifelong relationship, no matter what route or support, means the world to me. not to mention their growth together, with Dimitri and the other Blue Lions, with Byleth, and with characters outside their house. i think about these two a lot and they're easily just behind Dimitri for my favorites.
- Ashe and Mercedes! my friends who recently picked up Three Houses didn't care for either of them, but their stories also resonate with me! Ashe carrying on Lonato's legacy by doing what he believes is right and Mercedes' unending kindness, faith, and care for her friends and family while also standing strong are both lessons i could learn from.
- ahhh there's so many! i love both the dark and holy knight, sniper, swordmaster, and dancer of course!
- swords and lances! at least half of my most deployed units usually end up wielding one of the two
woo, caught up now! i'll come back each day for the next two weeks to keep answering and counting down to the anniversary!
10. Field of Eagle and Lion is so much fun and i love getting to see all the characters from each house compete! Reunion at Dawn and Oath of the Dagger make me incredibly emotional, i teared up playing both of those on my first run
11. Rumored Nuptials because of Ingrid and Dorothea's interactions! this was one of the first paralogues i played and i was instantly a fan of their chemistry, i'm still upset that they have a b-tier max support and the note it ends on
12. the entire soundtrack is so !!! picking just one is impossible. Apex of the World gives me chills every single time while also pumping me up, Life at Garreg Mach Monastery is a classic that i could probably listen to forever, and A Funeral of Flowers carries this unmistakable sobriety and heartbreak to it.
13. fishing actually! i was talking with a friend recently about how we enjoy three houses' fishing more than other games we enjoy with fishing options. mealtimes and teatimes are easy second places
14. Dimileth, they Are my otp. their journey together throughout Three Houses, Byleth continuing to reach out her hand for Dimitri and guiding him forward, i think about it a lot. Felannie and Sylvcedes are right behind - Felix genuinely liking Annette and continuing to seek her out, Sylvain and Mercedes both having their lives permanently altered by crests yet finding solace in each other. these ships are my everything.
15. i mentioned them before, i'll mention them again - Dorogrid. Dorothea and Ingrid stole the show with Rumored Nuptials and their pairing is treasured in my heart.
16. Sylvix, no contest. their stories being so intertwined due to literally growing up together, their growth both as individuals and companions, their paired endings, wow.
17. Sylvain, Mercedes, Felix, and Annette. i love these four dearly, i love them together (Sylvix, Felannie, Sylvcedes, Mercette), so all four of them together sounds like the best of all worlds to me.
18. as i keep mentioning, both for the ship itself and my confusion over if it's a rare-pair or not, Dorogrid. i'm going to count it because they don't have a paired ending, but their paralogue and their opposing personalities, traits, and backgrounds (beautiful yet self-loathing opera singer x practical knight/ heir of her house) are endlessly perfect.
19. probably Dimitri/Byleth. to see Dimitri's growth, how he comes to trust Byleth after spending time with them and learning to stand side-by-side with others working towards a common goal or even just for support is heartwarming. Dimitri/Mercedes supports as well, especially with the A support and Mercedes insistence that Dimitri is not a monster. Yuri/Byleth, Sylvain/Byleth, and Felix/Byleth supports are also all up there for me.
20. i don't know if i've just never thought of it or never seen anyone discuss it, but i'm really liking the Ferdinand/Constance supports in my current playthrough. i previously didn't know they were childhood friends and the whole dynamic of them reuniting after living very, very different lives after the fall of House Nuvelle is so interesting.
21. completely and utterly stealing this from Three Hopes, but Sylvain/Yuri and Ashe/Yuri. wow, oh boy, have you ever seen something happen and realize that's what you were missing all along? because that's what those two did for me. i also think supports between Mercedes/Marianne, Mercedes/Bernadetta, and Marianne/Bernadetta would be fascinating (yes, this is genuinely because, aside of being fond of these three, i've been compared to them all at least once and would love to see how they interact).
22. (i have admittedly not played many other fe games) but i really enjoyed Griss/Gregory in Engage and the Sage class they are. I use a lot of swords and lances (if my overwhelming love for Dimitri, Sylvain, and Felix weren't apparent, not to mention Byleth and Yuri) but Engage showed me how much I could love magic users if built correctly (thank you Gregory and Pandreo, looking at you two).
23. ahhh, looking at real life recipes, or as close as you can get, (because i would Love to make them someday) i would love to try the Garreg Mach Meat Pie and the Saghert and Cream. someday i'll master these dishes.
24. other than Garreg Mach, obviously, i would love to see each capitial - Fhirdiad, Enbarr, and Derdriu. they all sound like culturally rich places with their own distinct qualities and traits, it's such a shame we don't see more of them in game or at least spend considerable time in any of them.
25. Mercedes, Ashe, and Igntaz! I feel like we'd be good friends and would get along well - Mercedes because i personally think we're very similar, Ashe because i'd love to talk about stories and knights with him, and Ignatz for a shared love of art!
26. Fire Emblem: Three Houses literally changed my life. i'd played a few games before - minecraft, undertale, pokemon sword - but nothing that made me go "oh, so this is what games can be" and "i feel wholly invested and immersed in this world and the consequences actions have here." it's pushed me to improve in my art, it's inspired me to cosplay, it actually in a really weird way helped me comes to terms with my spirituality, the literal centerpiece and star of my college art exhibition was a piece that displayed both my religious beliefs and Three Houses characters and their own standings with the church. i cannot ever state enough how much this game, it's sequel Three Hopes, and the community for it has changed my life for the better
