~~~~~~~~~~
In a medieval world where dragons were at war, Ingrid lived a life of gentle solitude. Her home was nestled at the edge of a small yet welcoming village, a place where the air was thick with mystery and the skies were often gray. The dragons in her village were often afraid & kept their distance, which was understandable, of course, but it made her feel isolated and ignored. Nothing but gray skies, blood, war, and tears… Despite this, she found solace in two crafts: the art of candlemaking and the role of a jester. Each morning, Ingrid would wake before dawn to have a moment of peace. She cherished these quiet hours, when war was absent and she could focus solely on one of her favorite hobbies. In her cozy workshop, filled with the scent of beeswax and the soft glow of melting wax, Ingrid would carefully pour molten wax into molds, creating candles that flickered with warm, inviting light. Each candle was a small triumph, a beacon of hope in her otherwise shadowy world. As the day goes on, the cracking of bones, panting breaths, and piercing cries of dying dragons are more frequent. Ingrid isn't frightened by this, but rather, disgusted and saddened. How could dragons be so cruel to one another when there's always a peaceful solution? As the evening approaches, Ingrid puts her jester's cape onto her back, adorned with colorful shapes and a bell that jingled as she moved. Her tail swished playfully, and her eyes, though tinged with sadness, sparkled with the desire to entertain others… She would venture into the village market, where she would perform with grace and humor, resulting in smiles and laughter from the youngsters who watched. Other villagers and sellers, although amused, kept their distance as usual; afraid and untrusting. And again, emptiness and isolation filled her heart once more… Ever since the war began, Ingrid would light one candle at the end of each day to represent hope and peace. When she lit tonight's candle, Ingrid closed her eyes and imagined what it would be like if the war ended.. if that was even possible. |
When Ingrid became a mother, she valued her children above all else and became extremely protective over them. Even when her children became adults and left their birth home, she still considered them her "Infants". Children of Ingrid tend to be very empathetic and caring.
