Once a radiant vessel of Light, Apollo bore the luster of the divine with sun-forged scales, a heart tuned to the Muses. But light decays fastest when left unguarded. No record survives of how many lairs he passed through, only that by the time the Keeper found him, he laid writhing at death’s threshold, body fractured, his mind fraying, and the last of his radiance bleeding away. As he slipped toward final silence, the Keeper embraced him… and with Plague’s breath upon his lips, he changed.

Her infection was a gift. His loyalty, a vow. In return for his rebirth, she stripped him of his old name and gave him a new one, one that would never die: Apollo.

Now, his melodies carry more than the healing harmony they once did: they spread disease, beautiful and sickening. Each note from his lyre drips contagion, a venomous lullaby that infects the mind, enthralls the body, and leaves dragons trembling at his feet. It is as sweet as it is lethal. The lair worships him not just for his power, but for the divine rot he brings to all.

He is the Marrowmere’s first-hand, its golden plague, the muse-turned-infection whose songs shape prophecy, enthrall the faithful, and glorify decay.
