“My rivals back home – it’s not that I’m bitter- but think how they’ll squirm when they see how I glitter!”
I was hatched on a particularly bright and hot summer day along with three others – two brothers and a sister. Our mother was a rather gently coatl and their father a no-nonsensical ridgeback. Unlike my siblings, I was different. My markings were much paler than theirs and I didn’t feel like I fit in with the rest of them. It felt like my family hated me for it. Constant picking on by my siblings led me to absolutely despising my body.
After all… I alone had the stereotypical markings of the Lightweaver’s children. Did this mean something? Was it fate?

A few hours after hatching, I was sent to a different lair, far from my family. I became a Light and Lightning hybrid in a lair surrounded by dragons with markings that spoke of no specific deity, though all seemed to harmonize with one another. And my maize okapi fit right in.
But I still didn’t feel fully myself.
I did, however, note that these dragons had a love for changing themselves, be it via apparel or physically changing themselves. Terra, the clan’s mother, encouraged this change if they wanted. She herself turned from an all basic fae into a gorgeously marked skydancer and never felt better.
If she could do it, why couldn’t I?
But I still didn’t feel fully myself.

It took a long time and a lot of effort. But I did it. I finally became something I could be proud of. I hope that my family, wherever they currently reside, can finally be happy with me. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t hope that they’d be jealous of my acceptance of my fate, embracing my maize coloring, emphasizing it.

I’m a beautiful glittering goddess of the Lightweaver. And I’m proud of it.
