“The wing? That old thing? Why would I need to fly now that I've already seen every inch of the world?”

As a young dragon, Atlas knew not his name nor his family. He hatched alone, and wandered the lands with whomever would travel with him. For many years he lived honorably, focused on meeting others and flying from place to place to see the world. He was given the nickname Atlas after he began to brag about having seen every corner of the world.

In his travels, he met Seafoam. A wonderful Fae dragon with which he fell in love. He was determined to impress her, but lacked the gold or hoard to build a home. In a desperate attempt at securing himself a future, he began to steal from merchant carts. On one day, he unknowingly stole from a very powerful dragon.

As he fled, the Mage dragon cast a barrier around their home. Atlas's right wing caught in the barrier, and began to petrify. He fell to the earth, shattering his stone wing. Seafoam approached at the sound, horrified to find Atlas with so many stolen goods, including an egg Atlas had unknowingly grabbed. Before Atlas could warn her about the magical barrier, Seafoam raced in to return the items, only to petrify instantly.

Unable to fly, Atlas spent days on the edge of the barrier, searching for some way to reach in and retrieve Seafoam. A heavily scarred dragon found him one evening, and she offered to reach one of her twisted, dying paws into the barrier to retrieve Seafoam.

Now with his mate's petrified form, he realized he was a fool for taking everything for himself. He asked the scarred dragon if she needed anything. Treasure, food, shelter, anything at all. The scarred dragon shook her head and explained she was merely searching for a new home. A new clan.

Inspiration struck, and with what little stolen goods didn't return to the barrier, Atlas offered to form that new Clan. Now he leads the Petrified, and spends his days researching a way to unpetrify Seafoam.
