Journal Entry 1 (Kapara):
I had been planning to go serve with the Stormcatcher, but a dragon at the hostel clan I was staying at, Ysera, introduced me to Shady, a traveler. He seems to have enjoyed traveling so much I decided to go with him.
Journal Entry 2 (Crystalwood):
A lot has changed since I last recorded my travels. First of all, Shady and I parted ways a long time ago, and although he promised me he would contact me when he got to the Tangled Wood, I haven't heard anything. I fear the worst for him. I also have become much more proficient in traveling and surviving on my own. I have learned more about the world than I could have ever imagined I could ever know. Each region is so different and the clans within that are so different too. It's all so beautiful and terrifying.
I have recently met a pair of traveling thieves by the names of Zagreus and Ariadne. I'll admit, at first, I turned up my nose a bit, but I learned that they have more morality than many law-abiding citizens that I've met. They let me travel with them for a couple of days, but when they started talking of doing a job on the next stop, I told them I had to part ways before I knew any more. They understood and respected my decision, so I flew off in search of a new, and more legal, adventure.
Journal Entry 3 (BluestXBlu)
I met a nomadic clan near the Lightweaver’s Domain. They weren’t the friendliest bunch, their leader, Icarus attacked me. She snarled near my face and growled, “Who are you, and how did you find my pack.” It wasn’t a question but a demand. Her claws dug into my back before I heard another voice. It was a Gaoler named Erewynd. He rumbled gently, “I don’t think he’s a threat. Look how small he is and he didn’t smell you.” Well geez, thanks, what he said made her stop but I don’t know if I should feel happy or offended. I slowly got up after and lowered my head. Trying to not get my butt served again by her... she stared me down, it was like she wasn’t even looking at me but through me. It was unnerving on so many different levels. She looked me up and down, then turned away. Erewynd seemed to know what she was saying without words. He beckoned me to follow, they told me it was too dangerous for me to be here. They sent a Fungalhoof Qiriq with me to go to the main clan, Haethlion in the Icewarden’s territory.
After a few weeks of travel I got there, I befriended the Qiriq after I fed it a few times. It led me to Haethlion after it nuzzled my arm and left. Making a snorting sound as though it was laughing at me. Knowing the future before I did. I met two Gaolers outside of the encampment, the Mirror from before sent a letter telling them of my arrival. Well not them but the Leader of them I never got to meet. Dresa and Llewelyn showed me around Haethlion, I tried asking about certain buildings and why they didn’t show me. They told me since I’m not apart of the clan I wasn’t allowed to learn about them. After that, they told me I needed to learn how to fight. Icarus sadly told them of what happened. The pair never let me live it down since.
After a while, I would spar with them, since I went on patrols with them. They told me I needed to spar dragons now. Not some feral beastclan, I fought them and some other clan members. Since they thought I was able to defend myself, I was told to leave. Not rudely but in subtle ways. They would act as though I had already left. I asked Dresa why the clan was doing that and her response was, “We’ve trained you and.. well you know how to defend yourself. And we don’t let outsiders stay too long. If they do.. they can never leave.” She didn’t look at me when she said that last sentence. It was as though she was telling herself that too.
I packed my stuff and some food. They sent some potions with me to heal myself in case I run into any trouble. I left feeling happy but... strangely enough, I felt extremely alone after. I looked back and Dresa was there. She shook her head at me, that was enough to tell me it wasn’t a good idea to stay longer.
My next stop was further into the Icewarden’s realm. The Fortress of Ends didn’t sound all that welcoming but it was on my list for places to see. Once there I felt like I was being watched but through the icy wind I couldn’t see who or what was watching me. Then I saw it, I recognized the silhouette ofthose horns from the Gaoler I had encountered before. It was coming closer followed by the shape of others just like it. “What are you doing out here?” A purple Gaoler asked. she was different looking from the ones I had seen before she had fur but also thick plates like armor covering her body. On top of that she had what appeared to be some sort of flowers growing from between the plates, odd indeed. I later learned her name was Diantha. I prepared to defend myself expecting to be attacked by the group of Gaoler but the laughed at me instead. “Follow us, it’d be wise to do so” A red female replied. The dangerous looking glowing green veins in her fur made me think twice about refusing to surrender myself. I followed them back to a settlement that was large enough to be a city.
Once in the city I was met by more dragons this time wildclaws. They were introduced as the the elites but I did not learn their names. These were the highest ranking warriors in the clan and now I was worried that I was brought to be ripped apart by them. “Don’t let those fur brains worry you,” one said. He was a seam foam colored male with a poison pattern. Welcome to our home. You but be another one if those travelers we get here every now and then. We have a travelers den Tupi will hopefully find to your comforts.
I spent longer than I had planned here but there had been so much to explore, and the dragons here treated travelers well. It was time to move on
Journal Entry 4 (PijukVonGacy):
It feels a bit cliché to say but I really don't like the Wastelands. It's not just the gruesomeness, even though that's an issue, it's the hot, hot weather, and the birds of prey flying in circles around th sun... At least the nights are cooler. The town I stayed is was not unpleasant for a Plague town, but the food was really awful. I left fast.
Journal Entry 5 (KingVulture):
I can't believe I'm in the Wastelands again - oh well, at least this time I'm close to Shadow territory as well, and the dragons here are quite friendly, so I can't complain all too much. I was very quickly welcomed in by the clan's leaders, and led to a lodge where I could rest. They noticed I was hungry as well, and offered food. The other travellers seem nice, too. I suppose I'll stay for a little while - but I miss being back on the road, so I guess I gotta get going. I may come back someday, however.
Journal Entry 6 (MuchDregs):
Ah, back in the Shifting Expanse again. The dragons in here are... interesting, to say the least. They gave me some food and let me borrow one of their empty dens. Many of them are very serious and gruff, save for the few. I guess I'll stay for a bit before getting on the trail again.
Journal Entry 7 (KingVulture):
Ah... the second time staying in this clan. I'll admit it was rather pleasant, and I was given a warm welcome back. As a result, I asked to stay permanently, and was allowed to. I even earned myself a job, helping out at the lodge I once stayed at - along with a few other dragons.
