Sobek was an ancient Egyptian deity associated primarily with the Nile, fertility, and royal power. He was most commonly depicted as a crocodile or a man with a crocodile's head. Sobek was the god of the Nile's floods. He was believed to ensure agricultural abundance, and his fearsome aspect symbolised untamed natural power and military strength. Sobek was also closely connected to kingship and divine authority, and was often shown as a protector of the pharaoh and a symbol of royal power.

Sobek was a very dangerous god who lurked in the waters of the Nile, waiting for his prey. He doesn't care to whether he eats his victims, robs them or approaches them in some other way. He always wants more. However, when Osiris' body washed up in the Nile, he helped Isis find the body parts and reunite them with magic. Isis was grateful, so she enabled Sobek stay out of the water for longer and gave him power over the Fayum oasis.
Sobek discovered his love for the sun and took long sunbaths every day. When Re noticed this, he visited the previously very animalistic god and they had long talks together. It was then that a friendship developed between the two. Some humans even started making statues with crocodile bodies and falcon heads, but Sobek did not like these at all, and the talented craftsmen were quickly replaced...
But one day, when another craftsman had to go, Sobek followed him and met Ammit for the first time. It was love at first sight – but sadly, it was on one side only.
