Alohora is a scholar and a mage. As a progenitor she doesn't have any real ancestry, but for lore, her mother is Talia, a Water Guardian from the Tsunami Flats, and her father is Raiden, a Lightning Ridgeback from the Highland Scrub. Born in a lesser lair the Crystalspine Reaches, she always dreamed of working as a magister at the Oculus of the Eleven, helping to chart and monitor the ley lines of pure elemental magic that flow throughout Sornieth. She studied hard, but her studies could not prepare her for the inevitable day when she would set out on her Search, as all young Guardians must. Feeling oddly pulled toward the Abiding Boneyard of the Plague domain, Alohora had her doubts about her quest, but she pressed onward. She came across a lone Spiral, barely more than a hatchling, lying motionless on the cracked plain. With the Wandering Contagion creeping ever closer, she knew she couldn't leave him. Feeling fiercely protective of the little drake, she picked him up and draped him across her shoulders like a scarf, and then set out for the Starfall Isles once more, praying that she wouldn't arrive too late for him to be saved. She couldn't risk flying and having him slide from her shoulders, so she was forced to journey on foot. Luckily, her size and natural armor made most hesitate to challenge her, but there was still the Contagion to deal with, and it didn't care how big she was. It was as she was mustering her courage to make the final charge over the borderlands and into the relative safety of the Starwood Strand, that a voice calling out to her caught her by surprise. At first, she thought the Spiral had awoken, but the voice came not from behind her, but below her. She looked down, and saw with amazement - and a little confusion - that a fluffy Tundra stood grinning placidly up at her. He introduced himself as Joff, and went on to explain that he had gotten a bit turned around while foraging with his flock... well, more than a bit, it would seem. He couldn't recall which direction he had come from, and had been wandering in circles for hours. He asked, very politely, if she wouldn't mind if he travelled with her, since she seemed to know the area. She couldn't see any reason to refuse him, especially considering how lonely her journey had been thus far - the Spiral didn't really count as company, being unconscious. Besides, the Abiding Boneyard was not a place one would like to find themselves lost in. And so, now there were three. They made it back safely, and Alohora brought the little Spiral and Joff to the Oculus. There, they learned that the Spiral's name was Finn, and that he was from the Highland Scrub in the Shifting Expanse. He'd been flying with his brothers Arion and Magus above the Sea of a Thousand Currents, when a freak storm had blown up, unheard of in those regions. Arion and Magus turned for home immediately, knowing the dangers of the strong winds - after all, they were children of the Windsinger as well as the Stormcatcher - but Finn had remained, curiosity overweighing his good judgment. The storm winds disoriented him, the rain blinding, and the crashing of the thunder drowned out his cries for help as the young Spiral was swept further and further away from home. At some point, he had lost consciousness, for when he awoke the storm was gone, and he was in an arid wasteland. It was hot, he was thirsty, and when he tried to fly, he discovered he had a sprained wing. He had wandered for what felt like an eternity before finally collapsing, exhausted and weak. If Alohora hadn't come along, he might have joined the other bones bleaching in the blazing sun. By now the Guardian had realized the obvious: Finn was her Charge. She had also realized that she rather enjoyed the company of the Tundra named Joff, and since he couldn't remember the way back to his flock anyway, she invited him to stay with her. Thus began the tale of Alohora's clan. Joff and Alohora have had three hatchlings: Lightbound, Dusk, and Luna. Lightbound was exalted to the Lightweaver, Dusk moved to the Clan of High Valley in an ancient lair near the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, and Luna moved to a Venerable Lair hidden in the Foxfire Bramble. She has had no other offspring to date, although Finn could be considered an adoptive son. She can be described as steadfast and loyal, and stubborn to a fault. Alohora will not budge when it comes to what she believes is right. She is very compassionate, but can be a bit oblivious to what's going on around her sometimes. She is fiercely protective of her clan, and is nervous about the recent arrival of a new clan led by Plague dragons, Bloodbane and Hecate. She considers Riptide and Jarick's clan as allies, which makes sense considering Riptide is her mother's cousin. Alohora has a younger sister, Lamina, who was recently hatched on the Starwood Strand since Raiden and Talia have returned to visit their eldest daughter. Another recent development has been Joff's discovery of a lone Nocturne egg, which he and Alohora immediately took in as their own. The hatchling was named Thorn, and when he was old enough to decide, he became a Guardian like his mother. Thorn is a herbalist and a healer.
