| You've only catched glimpses of this reclusive dragon through the windows of her cabin, silhouettes drawn in sheer white curtains that protect from prying eyes. But today it's different. The first snow of the year has begun to fall, and the mysterious dragon has come out to admire it, accompanied by who you assume must be her lover. Her face beams with glee. It's obvious she hasn't noticed you, and though you'd like to meet her, you decide to remain hidden. It'd be a crime to interrupt this moment. |

- - - - - - - This runaway princess's name, Hildegard, has only been whispered to a select few. Her silky robes, only ever seen mere feet away from the cozy cabin she lives in. But her words? They have reached the whole archipelago, sometimes even trespassing it's borders. Lady Carol, her pen name, is the most revered poet of Nuberosa. Disregarded as an useless hobby, her poems were always looked down upon by her mother. After running away from home with her lover, away from the judging eyes of her family, she has finally been able to pursue her passion. While she is still the same delicate, soft spoken, mild-mannered and kind dragon she was back home, she's working on building her confidence and self esteem little by little. She owes it all to Soleil, whose undying love and devotion helped her find her own self-worth. Maybe one day, when she is sure no one is left looking for her, she'll show her true self to the world. For now though, it's better to be safe than sorry. |

I lie awake in the snow, my heart beating loud on my chest. The sun is starting to go down, and I can hear the heavy footsteps of my lover approaching with some food she recently hunted. I know that its most likely that the guard is not searching for us, not yet, but I can't help my fears of seeing them emerging from the snow. I close my eyes and all i can think of is the face my mother would make if she found us, the furious glare as she wonders how do I manage to keep disappointing her, or worse, humiliating her. I sadly was never good at anything she wanted me to succeed at. Not combat, or war, or business, or politics. And when she finally understood the fact that the only use she could get of her youngest daughter was to marry her off to gain political favors, I go and fail at that too.
I don't know if I feel remorseful, though. I don't think I do. Destiny brought to my world the most incredible, loyal, and pure of heart dragon I believe exists in Sornieth, my beloved bodyguard Soleil. How could I agree to marry a Noble I don't know, who will probably only use me for children and then keep me stashed away in a tower where I can't bother him, when I have a Knight right next to me who keeps talking to me about freedom, about my worth and my talents. That attentively listens to my poems, encouraging me to pursue the passion my family has many times tried to kill. A knight so brave that is willing to risk everything to run away with me, to help me escape the hands of my fiance. A knight that is madly in love with a dragon that for the longest time I thought was unlovable. As far as my mother knows, right now me and my guard are travelling to the Cloudscrape Crags to meet my betrothed. But we'll never arrive there, tragically lost in a snowstorm in our way west. A sad but not surprising loss, as these lands are famous for claiming bodies that are often never found. Or at least that's what we hope she believes happened. In reality, we will be travelling up north, away from the Icewarden's territory. We should be reaching warmer lands in about two weeks. Its funny to think about how things have changed. A few years ago, I would have given anything for my mother to notice me. But now, nested with my beloved next to me, my only wish is that she forgets I exist. |

Sonnet about Soleil Written on a fine decorated paper, perfumed with roses. My brave Soleil, you inspire me to write. I love the way you love, protect and smile, Taking my mind in day and through the night, Always dreaming with my love’s stockpile. Let me compare you to a sanctuary? You are more noble, welcomed, and fair. Ice bites in the debris of February, But wintertime has the same noble air. How do I love you? Let me sing the ways. I love your bravery in, heart and armor. To be held in your fearless heart fills my days. My heart in love for you doubling each hour. Now I must end with a desperate, loving heart, Remember my truly kept words whilst we're apart. | aaaaaaaa |

The Knight
Signs of aging are starting to show on the paper. It has traveled a long distance.
See the running of the Knight,
I think she's angry at the plebiscite. She finds it hard to see the love, Overshadowed by the false foxglove. Who is that dancing near the roses? I think she'd like to flee the castle’s roses. She is but a brave princess, Admired as she avoids her governess. Her icy heart is just a wood, Unnavigable by man, but by a woman of knighthood. She's not alone she brings a cabin, a pet cat, and lots of ink and paraffin. The cat likes to taste the jam, And perhaps it could get a bit of ham. The Knight shudders at the lovely lady Who she’ll help leave when they’re both ready. | aa |

A Man Called Tradition A limerick written on the backside of a pamphlet There once was a man who liked nobility. He said, "See the versatility!" It was rather old, But not very strong of hold, He couldn't resist the fragility. | aaaaaaaa |

Her Love
The handwriting stands out as different from the others. It looks like it has been erased and rewritten a handful of times.
Whose love is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite happy though. Full of joy like a field with snow, I watch her laugh. I covet her hello. She gives her love a shake, And laughs until her belly aches. The only other sound's the break, Of distant wind in leaves and birds awake. The love is gentle, endless and deep, But she has no secrets to keep, After cake and lots of sleep. So sweet dreams come to her cheap. She rises from her gentle bed, With thoughts of kittens in her head, She eats her jam with a little bread. Ready for the day ahead. | aa |

Roses are Red Tea stains and breadcrumbs decorate this poem. Roses are red, Violets are blue, Old trees are noble, And so are you. Orchids are white, Ghost ones are rare, My blush is pink, And so is your hair. Magnolia grows, With buds like eggs, The wind is strong, And so are your legs. Sunflowers reach, Up to the skies, Water is blue, And so are your eyes. Foxgloves in hedges, Surround the farms, Daylight is broad, And so are your arms. Daisies are pretty, Daffodils have style, Your sword is striking, And so is your smile. The ocean is terrifying and beautiful, Just like you. | aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa |
