SPELUNKER & FIRST IN LINE FOR LEADERSHIP

Currently second in line after his mother, Karin shows very little interest in the overall guidance of the clan. The way he sees it, Karuka is a stubborn lady, and will no doubt only give up her position of Matriarch when she is physically unable to move. Unless some freak accident befalls her, Karin is certain he'll be a grumpy old man by the time it happens (and she an even grumpier old woman), and leadership will actually fall to one of his or his siblings' children.

So for now he spends his time exploring and has developed a particularly intense interest in caves. His personal hoard is full of odds and ends that he has retrieved from the deep regions inside the earth (the slimier and squirmier ones tend to "accidentally" get left behind in his clutchmate's lair).

He's in no eager rush to find a mate (a previous encounter with a wandering Mirror left him rather leary of females), but he does have a bit of a crush on Ganna that he refuses to admit openly.

Glowshine's companionship has made Karin's explorations easier as she is able to provide a steady light source he doesn't have to carry around (his deepsea bulb is primarily used just for detail work).

F R I E N D S • R U I N
Ruin and Karin are inseperable BFFs that are frequently mistaken for mates, which amuses Ruin but makes him sheepish or sulky depending on the circumstances. They first met while out in the field (Karin had been out traveling when her father brought Ruin and her brother home with him), and instantly bonded over their love of exploration. Even though his focus was on caverns and geology, while hers were ruins and archeology, their fields of study crossed over often enough that they'll frequently be found studying a new area together.

F A M I L Y
K A R U K A-Karin has a relatively distant relationship with his mother. She lets him be and he doesn't bother to interfere with her business. Every so often he'll get coaxed into sitting in on a session with her and her advisors or other high ranking clan members, but this is usualy due to the advisors urging rather than her own. Everyone seems well aware that no one will take over as leader for quite some time, but they do want to prepare just incase disaster strikes.
M I N T Y-Karin and Minty have a typical sibling rivalry sort of relationship. He would always pick on her and tease her, and it's rumored that her change into a Wildclaw had something to do with wanting to be able to stand up to him, something that was difficult to do in her original fae form.
E V E R G L A D E-One of Karin's many half siblings, but one of the few who remained with the clan. Because of their age difference, and the fact that Karin has little interaction with her father beyond requesting funds for supplies, the two consider themselves more friends than family. They don't interact with each other too much, but he does have to thank her for showing him entrances to underwater caverns hidden in the murkier areas of Soreinth.
F R O T H-Karin never expected to be an attentive uncle, but he couldn't help but take a shine to the young coatl when he started following him around like a little brother. But where Karin showed Froth a lot of the ropes growing up in his clan, he also gained a couple of things himself. Froth made his scarf (one of the knitter's first!) and he started using a Deepsea Bulb for his explorations after seeing Froth using one for detail work.

Honestly the whole rival thing is in Tourma's head than it is Karin's, and he tends to steer clear of the Skydancer when possible. It's not his fault their familiars like each other!
