Relations: Nothari (Friend)___Ersile (Friend) Pollux Arcedeine Enmu had become a graveyard keeper only recently. He was exploring the deeper areas of the Tangled Woods when he stumbled upon the abandoned graveyard. He could see the ghostly draconic figures that resided within, and seeing how many spirits there were, the graveyard was most likely brimming with untold and interesting tales. He approached a group of spirits and gave a greeting. Enmu was met with, surprisingly, expectant looks. The spirits motioned for him to follow, which he does. The group weaved through the gathering spirits, except Enmu who could just let other spirits pass through his form, and arrived in front of a building, a mausoleum of sorts. He entered the building, wondering why he was led here. Taking a look inside, the interior is what you would expect from an abandoned place, or so you think. The inside was somehow well kept, not a single speck of dust was seen and the walls had no cracks caused by erosion. Enmu set aside his thoughts on the jarring difference and continued on. Soon he was facing the lone figure of a Pearlcatcher, a living one. This dragon was old, almost like a living corpse. The old dragon scrutinized Enmu from where he stood, then began to speak in a croaky, grating voice (y’know the voices that Matthew Mercer does for undead, that). “A child of that bloodline. Ones who can see the dead, destined to bury the dead. Swear an oath to this duty, and not be cursed for eternity.” Even with such few words, Enmu paled at what he heard. Cursed for eternity? He was still young and wanted to keep his not cursed status, thank you very much. Otherwise, he didn’t really have a reason to refuse, he’s not averse to seeing spirits, in fact he looks forward to interacting with them and listening to tales, whether true or not. Enmu composed himself and swore an oath, an oath that would change his life forever. After Enmu swore oath, the old dragon collapsed, his body turning to ash. It seems whatever force had kept him alive this far had left once he found a successor. Enmu gathered the ashes and looked around for an urn, he was now this graveyard’s keeper after all.
“Once again, another interesting individual was encountered recently. I was exploring the Tangled Woods, with Pollux being my guide. We reached an abandoned graveyard and she told me that the graveyard keeper, Enmu, had the ability to see spirits.” |
