Turandot

It is said that the moons themselves chose Turandot's name, or so the sages of her family claim. Born to a wealthy and powerful clan from the Tourmaline Archives, the little princess was brought to hatch in Starwood Strand, in the hope that the influence of the heavens could someday help her become one of her generation's greatest mages.

Yet, Turandot felt suffocated by her aristocratic surroundings since the very beginning. A life divided between constant studies and sumptuous receptions proved to be no good fit for the feisty princess, whose many distractions and interests outside magic cost her a lot of pain. Turandot was fiercely independent and longed for a power of her own, completely separate from her family's expectations.

It was with this intent that, after hearing rumours of a Lightning clan who sought independence and agency above all, she packed what little she considered her belongings and fled to the dangerous Carrion Canyon. When one of Bernadette's clan bumped into her, she could no longer lift herself off the ground and had almost died of exposure.

The clan welcomed Turandot warmly to their den, and Corvus nursed her back to health. As thanks for his care, she shared much of her arcane knowledge with him and Ignis. Even so, her wishes for the future lay elsewhere - she asked to become a warrior, so she could defend herself and others in exchange for food and shelter.

After many battles under Elias' wing, Turandot is now a warrior and hunter of the finest kind. Her role is to train the younglings of the clan, teaching them to protect and be protected just as she was. Her exceptional stamina also shows in her long hunting expeditions with her mate Calaf, who helps her keep the clan happy and fed.
