Catalina hailed from the Starfall Isles. She specialized in potions and tinctures, using her magic to enchant otherwise normal herbs. Her clan encouraged her skills, but as Catalina grew so did her ambitions, far beyond traditional arcane magic. For she wished to change a dragon's breed so they make take their desired form.

Catalina's elders suggested she educate herself in plague magic as it focused on change and mutation.

She then ventured into the Scarred Wasteland, scouring the land for herbs and testing their reactions to her arcane magic. While she created many potions, they lacked the effectiveness of her usual mixtures.

Then, within the waste, she found a sprawling garden. It teemed and pulsated with life, its plants as grotesque as they were beautiful. Catalina approached, but a pale guardian, Genevieve, interfered.

Genevieve warned that the plants were dangerous to dragons not adapted to the plague, but Catalina was unmoved. She claimed that with her arcane magic, she could safely handle the plants and use them in potions. She suggested a demonstration and though Genevieve was reluctant, she allowed it.

Catalina gathered a clawful of poisoned petals and mixed it with a tincture. She muttered a few words and the potion emitted a puff of pink smoke. Catalina then drank.

Her claws glowed a vibrant pink for several minutes before fading back to their natural hue. She showed no signs of discomfort or pain.

Genevieve applauded Catalina and asked if she could make other potions.

Catalina said that she could and with more permanency if Genevieve would allow her to further study the garden.

Genevieve agreed and Catalina built her hut in the garden.

There, she utilizes plants unfit for consumption and makes them into powerful potions, striving to create mixtures to change a dragon's form.
