Biography
Roxie    Plague Liaison Roxie has always been a rebel, and when journeying through Plague territory with a study group as a youngling, she didn’t listen when the guide told everyone to stay on the path. She was so curious about the weird flora and fauna in this foreign land that she slinked off the first chance she got. As the young Pearlcatcher wasn’t native to the area, she had very little protection against any local disease or parasites, and stuffing her snout in a hole in the ground was the very way to get a nasty worm. Which is exactly what happened. When Roxie returned to the study group, she got scolded by the tour guide and was used as an example of why NOT to wander off without proper guidance and protection. She was diagnosed with Heatworm, a persistent but not life-threatening parasite that feeds on the wing membranes of dragons, causing them to become weak and paper-like and unable to hold up in flight. It also causes the nacre Pearlcatchers secrete to become a sickly orange color, with a slight smell of sulfur where there was no smell before. To keep others from worrying about her too much, she keeps her pearl concealed in a pouch at her side, only taking it out to add another layer to it. Upon returning home, there’s a constant buzzing in her head that wasn’t present when she was in the Scarred Wasteland, which causes her to return quite often. Shir took note of her frequent trips to Plague lands and insisted she help out the clan. Roxie has agreed to become the clan’s Plague Liaison, not because she wants to do work, but because she has nothing better to do while she’s wandering the wastelands. The parasite seems happy to be home, and she’s happy to not have her head hum constantly, so why not make some money for her home on the side? She and her Nightmare take a ship over the Sea of a Thousand Currents and she rides her familiar through the wasteland from post to post. Hoard
