Does anyone else find, following NotN, they feel like they have very little reason to play actively?

I usually only keep my dragons fed throughout NotN. I find I don't bother doing much else throughout the year because making gems any other way than NotN is either too stressful (skin sales / commissions) or too slow (fodder training)

NotN gives me something to work towards and I find the elemental festivals aren't really fun or interesting enough to keep me occupied. Another site I usually play throughout the year just shut down, so now I'm wondering how to entertain myself on FR throughout the leadup to NotN.

What are you guys' thoughts on this? Does anyone else also feel like the only activity/event in FR that they really care about is NotN? Does anyone have any tips for enjoying Elemental Festivals more or getting more out of FR throughout the year?

Yes, after NotN I will typically just log on to do dailies until February. Elemental holidays are underwhelming for me too. I make good money from the Valentine's event so I tend to avoid anything more until then.

nah. I got stuff to do. I will continue as normal, just the way I did pre NotN.

Making money is easy if you find ways to do so passively ^^ Baldwins is great for that, potentially Sophie's is too :) You could always do a breeding challenge, like Stock the Pond or Basic to Gem for fun & sell the hatchlings that you don't need / keep. Or if you're into Coli, a Coli long drop challenge might be fun ^^ All in all i'd say don't overthink it too much, taking a break is also valid [emoji=spiral happy size=1]

I definitely think there's other ways to make money than just commissions or fodder training that you can try.

Specifically with the elemental festivals, I'll trade for a bunch of copies of the new familiar and apparel, and then sell festival currency after I've got enough copies.

There's also melting and spinning, and especially after NoTN I have tons of extra familiars and apparel to convert. Materials are pretty easy to flip, and breaking down blues and purples into reds can be very profitable.

I have a horde shop with a spreadsheet to sell extras of things I don't need, and that's a nice easy source of bonus income.

Sometimes I'll poke through the G1s up on the AH for fodder prices to see if any are surprisingly nice. I like to look for gold-ish terts with complimentary primaries and secondaries.

I also have breeding projects that I work on throughout the year and most of them involve coatls, so if I took long breaks those would never get done lol

i kind of get you, i get in a bit of a lull because notn is So Much and it's really quiet after that. i've been trying to involve myself more in random things though, like dominance and stock the pond, so i'll be sticking around for those a lot more, and building up a hatchery for fun. it's definitely not fast money anymore though and you don't get those quick dopamines from selling and getting eggs and things en masse but that's part of what makes notn so special, you know?

I think there's definitely a space on some scale between "there's no reason to do [x] daily if I'm not getting event drops from it" and "finally, I can relax" that means lower activity. I'm more in the latter end— I'm doing my dailies but I don't feel like I "should" be doing more, which is nice and relaxing for me! [emoji=ridgeback laughing size=1]

Filthy dragon capitalism awaits no man so even in the post NotN burnout I'm on most days looking for opportunities, but I'll dial right back on bonding and coli to the bare minimum, just non-awakened fams and exalt bonus fodder.

Feel free to ping / message me :) Looking for 5 digit dragons here!
No, NOTN was more of a break from my other projects lol. I've gotten some decent funds, so I'm gearing up to kick off some new nests, do some new fun stuff, and get some projects checked off!

I am definitely looking forward to a more chill pace though. Fests will feel almost like they cheat you out of your time after the good NOTN drop rate, lol. Not looking forward to that. But a slower pace will be nice until then, give me a chance to get my creativity going. I want to try to participate more in Dom too.

idk i think notn kinda revives my interest actually !! it being a big moneymaker just means you get to go ham on new & existing projects right after :]

maybe it helps that i enjoy working on projects more than moneymaking fr activities anyway, so notn being over means i don't have to feel guilty about wasting away in the scrying workshop or writing dragon lore (when during notn i could be using that time in the coli getting chests)
