This is Dr. Sarah Stein Lubrano, and though I couldn't find the video that makes up this post, you can read/hear more from her here at her website:
don't infantilise yourself. you are not a child who needs an adult to make your decisions for you. you are a splendid and magnificent autocrat and you are consulting your trusted advisors. you are exercising great wisdom by inviting an expert to give their opinion before making your ruling. often the path of wisdom is to say "good morning, I'm trying to [perform task] and I have a question about [aspect], can you tell me who I should speak to for advice?" before you do it. sometimes the path of wisdom is to hire a plumber. there are times when you cannot do things for yourself but that doesn't mean you are not an adult. you don't need a grown-up. you need a specialist.
this has come up a couple of times so let me be really really clear:
the path of wisdom is sometimes to hire a plumber.
the path of wisdom is always to hire an electrician.
I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.
Exactly! It's freaking annoying when I want to watch movies but I would have to subscribe to like 24 different services . Just to watch the shows that I like.
Oh and wouldn’t it be nice for cartoons? Just anything animated. I just wanna stream things without getting conned. Must I be cartoonless forever?
i like using streaming apps but there are waaaay too many and they're all stealing my data .i wish there was a secure and organized way to have millions of shows and movies available one one app. but alas. we've truly gone full circle back to cable + now it spies on you. its a real shame. i dont want to fill my device storage with tons of boring and stupid cash grabs.
These kink posts just keep getting more and more esoteric
If you are going to an event this holiday season (or ever in the world in your life) and there’s going to be Somebody there you don’t want to talk to, here’s my advice.
Talk to them first.
Reasoning:
- “If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first.” Mark Twain. This person is your frog; get it over with!
- You will fulfill any obligation to talk to this person and you will have taken the initiative. They cannot complain you “never talk to them” or that you are mean/rude if you cordially approach them first.
- You have an easy excuse to leave the conversation. “Nice to see you, but I still need to say hello to [more pleasant person].” It will be easy to stay in conversation with others for a while, if you’re lucky you won’t have to speak to this Somebody again.
I think one of the best things you can do as any kind of creative is to draw more inspiration from things completely outside of your artistic medium
(with the enthusiasm of a sigma grindset guy telling you to get a side hustle) you gotta be waking up and saying stuff like "this chinese shadow puppet play really makes me want to write a ttrpg"
