If I could give a minus figure for Abritel/Vrbo/expedia or whatever name they currently choose to use that would still not be low enough. From a host's point of view they are a waste of time.....webpages being re-directed to USA in USD. Their hotel pricings no longer appear in Google search results. They told me to delete acoount and start again using abritel.fr for France....this then redirects me to VRBO USA and back to square one. Going around in circles. Never had a single enquiry but then again with a trustpilot rating of 1.2 I shouldnt expect any different. Customer service is a waste of time and do not understand their own website and use jorgon only understandable to an Indian call centre speaking in Yank

Abritel doesn’t exist anymore. They were closed and resurfaced as a scam from a company called VRBO. Do not use them without reading the reviews!

Terrible, non existent customer service. I booked an apartment through VRBO, which turned out to be Abritel in Paris. The apartment was misrepresented, listed as having AC, which it had NONE. This was during a heat wave. The host took 2 days to tell me the AC would not get fixed, so we checked out early and found somewhere new to stay. I was told I would be refunded for the unused nights. I have received NO refund and no reply messages for over a week now. The Abritel app only gives you the option to chat with AI, and is not helpful. I've resorted to disputing the charge on my credit card and will never rent through VRBO or Abritel again.

I would rate with 0 if I could. Same review for VRBO. no responsibility, no customer service. I made booking which I want to cancel with free cancellation policy, it needs to be accepted by owner and he is not accepting. The web-site is just giving the phone number of the owner. It"s a SCAM

That time, I booked a house - the owner changed the price x 2 - and now I receive every single day that I am late for paying something I did not accept.

We booked our stay in Italy via Abritel and arrived on the first day. However, the platform had double-booked our apartement so we could not enter. We communicated for 7 hours with Abritel to find a solution, however, they did not provide us with an alternative. In the end, we booked an apartement ourself with the written confirmation of Abritel, that we will get a refund for the first two nights. Since 6 weeks we keep calling them to get our refund but they keep forwarding us to their „resolution center“ that doesn‘t do anything and doesn‘t issue our refund. I have never had such a disappointing experience with any platform before.
Stick to Airbnb. Abritel/VRBO is far worse.

I have spent hours talking (via chat) to client services who refuse to take ownership for their error. This is the last time I will use VRBO/Abritel.

Do not use it. No service. The host cancelled the reservation and that is totally fine for Abritel. In short it’s nice if you want to be a host. But do not book there.

- An employee of the agency Movimiento Sevilla (Sevilla Moving) – local agency in charge of the rental in name of Abritel/ Expedia gave us the keys and showed us around the premises on 21/10/2024 date of arrival at around 15.00h.
- After the employee left, we noticed that a shutter in the middle bedroom was blocked, preventing the room from being darkened! Our cousin had a bad night.
- The shutter was repaired 1 day later on 22/10/2024 in the morning.
- Elevator failure observed on 22/10/2024 at 20.03h
- Call to the emergency service indicated in the lobby, after several calls, finally a correspondent who spoke neither English nor French...after a long wait the English-speaking employee confirmed that a technician would come as soon as possible????

The shutters have been repaired by a technician, however:
1. the hot water in the shower runs either full blast at 50* C with no possibility of reduction, and then suddenly no hot water, obliging us to take cold showers.
2. Meanwhile we've been without an elevator since 20:00h last night 22/10/2024?
Means: no elevator during the whole stay except on day 1
Despite immediate call!!! I have difficulty walking having a serious heel problem!!!

We found a cockroach in the bathroom on 23/10/2024 but not wanting to create fear to other members of our family we did not tell them.
After apologies received from Sevilla Moving (via WhatsApp) on 13/11/24 nearly 2 weeks after our holidays , we received the following messages on WhatsApp:
1. We receive few reservations from Abritel but we will review communication with them!
2. Given that you have already checked out and we have discussed the issues, at this point the best we can offer is a refund of one night to the credit card on the reservation. Let us know if this works for you and we will process the refund of one night
3. We will process the refund today, for 1 night to the credit card on the reservation 15/11/24
4. Since 15/11/24 no news, no answers to several WhatsApp messages!!
Never trust Abritel again
I had an extremely frustrating experience with my recent booking. I reserved a non-refundable room for two nights, only to arrive and find that Abritel had overbooked the property, despite it being rented for a month. There were no hotels available at the airport or in the city center, leaving me and my 72 old mum stranded. The landlady was kind enough to reach out to Abritel for assistance, but they were utterly unhelpful. They processed a refund. When the landlady asked them to arrange alternative accommodation, they flatly refused, saying it was not their problem. This level of service is completely unacceptable, and I would never recommend using Abritel again. It was the first and last time.

This company is wasting everyone's time and should be driven out of business as quickly as possible. As a current host, I will never use this company again because they DON'T PAY. The GUESTS also say repeatedly in reviews that their vacations have been ruined. This company needs an injection of customer service steroids and perhaps COMPETENCE and TRAINING. How embarrassing for the employees. Start looking for real job.

The host cancelled our reservation which was paid in full. No warning. Just received an email to say we'd be reimbursed. No warning or apology. Would not recommend.

Their system goes wrong, bookings won’t go through & zero accountability or reactivity
I found out in January 2024 that my advert was giving an error, contacted Abritel & they said it was. Then I received a message via the system saying that someone wanted to book & couldn’t - abritel’s helpline said that there was a problem, that they would fix it & client was able to book a day later. Whilst in the phone, the helpline said that they could see there had been a problem with the advert & that there had been 2 or 3 failed bookings & that they would send me an email explaining & would try to resolve the failed bookings. No surprise, no email. Called again & they didn’t know anything about the problem or the failed bookings & if I wanted a recording of the previous call, I’d have to contact their legal department to get the recording but they had no way of telling if I had failed bookings. Dreadful, dreadful customer service, apparently the problem is that I’m too expensive (same prices as 2003) & though the mid Dec-mid Jan is normally really busy, the problem wasn’t because my ad wasn’t working, it’s because of my prices!! So, either the person from Abritel who advised me in prices for 2003 was wrong & the person who contacted me trying to book saying the ad wasn’t working & the person on the helpline who said I had failed bookings because of a system error were all wrong or the 2nd person I talked to who is blaming this on my prices was trying to shut me up & get me off line. I have never liked booking or Airbnb but I suspect that they are now a better choice

From the moment we arrived at the villa, it was clear that our stay was not going to meet our expectations:
Surveillance cameras on the property raised privacy concerns, with no certainty they'd be off during our stay.
I do understand now why the owner wrote in a message:
Best with the house is that it is so private no neighbors can see you when you swim or want to lay in sunbeds with no clothes.
Our introduction to the property was the "broken" front gate, inelegantly secured with a large padlock.
The fridge and freezer were unexpectedly full, making it feel like someone had just been there or was still staying in the villa.
The cleaning was inconsistent, with not all kitchen cabinets being cleaned.
The mismatched bed linens were too small for the mattresses and duvets, adding to our discomfort.
Lighting in the bedrooms was inadequate. One had only a ceiling lamp, while the other two relied on a single bed lamp and a ceiling fixture.
There was also a water bottle and toilet paper on the bedtable.
The wardrobes' inability to close was another point of frustration.
Personal items like toothpaste and whitening products were already present, which was puzzling.
An oddly placed baby bed was obstructing the entrance.
Hanging electricity wires in the living area posed a clear safety concern.
The state of the dining chairs, tarnished and unclean, reflected the overall lack of upkeep in the villa.
The garden's BBQ was so encrusted with grime that using it would've required hours of cleaning.
Disturbingly, we found glasses concealed under bushes near the pool.
An unforeseen inconvenience was the revelation that a villa would soon be under construction directly in front of the property - a detail the owner omitted.
Despite the problems, the villa did have one redeeming quality: a breathtaking sea view.
Our concerns were so extensive, backed by photos, videos, and written conversations, that we chose not to stay a single night—the owner's subsequent lack of understanding and hesitation to provide a refund added to our dissatisfaction.
Attempts to rectify the situation through Abritel, by chat and phone calls, also proved futile.
They are thiefs
They are thiefs. They claim damages when you left and don't "reserve" the money from the credit card, they debit immediately. Unbelievable that this company is still allowed....
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. We rented a place and left 2 days earlier than planned because the house was such in a bad state that it was ridiculous.
We asked for a partial refund because the price we paid for the house we got was a joke, sharing pictures and comments to prove a point.
They asked me for my bank details but then never replied to their emails anymore, and of course nothing ever happened.
They just don’t care they’re that bad.
