I have been with Heard since the end of 2021. I have seen some staff changes and other growing pains; however, communication has always been prompt. I love their monthly reports and the ability to look back on uploads from prior months.

Heard takes care of everything so I don't have to. As a brand new business owner, I didn't know anything about bookkeeping or quarterly taxes, but they make it less overwhelming and walk you through it. Highly recommend.

I have been consistently using Heard since I started private practice in 2019 (part time) . Last year (2023) I began my journey in private practice fulltime. I entrusted Heard to complete my taxes, and I use their estimated tax to submit my quarterly taxes. Needless to say I am regretting my decision. The tax preparer put the incorrect EIN on my documents which has me owing the IRS. In addition an amendment had to be filed which takes 16 weeks to complete. I am in the process of submitting my quarterly taxes and need assistance. Heard does not provide any direct customer service number, and the message indicated that someone will get back to me within 24 hours. Quarterly taxes are due TODAY. I do not feel supported in this process. Its really unfortunate that I am having this experience, and I am in the process of searching else where. Also, I haven't received any apology, no reconciliation of situation, and this has been totally inconvenient.

I would like to speak with a representative from Heard. I would like to speak to a real person to get this matter resolved. In addition, I have the tax preparers return in which the incorrect EIN was filed. Tax preparation thru Heard is a service that is offered with the payment that is received monthly from me. I am not sure why I would be charged for the tax preparer putting the incorrect EIN number on the document sent to the IRS. This is why the IRS had me contact Heard to file an amendment due to the error.

Debacle. If you want layers of useless customer service people that don't know anything about operating a practice in between you and someone who can actually help your practice, go here. How are they still in business?

Heard has gone out of their way for me since I joined. Their staff replies in a thorough and timely manner to any questions I have. I live in a state where therapists have to pay sales tax, and they helped me setup my account so that I can run sales tax reports. I was never sure how much I would have to pay my previous accountant, because they charged on a per minute basis. Heard’s flat rate fee ensures that I can plan my finances is in a more predictable way. Not having to explain the therapy business to Heard has been a dream come true. I highly recommend their services.

I switched to Heard because they deem themselves the accounting and bookkeeping services for therapists. I would recommend going to a local accountant - checking with other therapists to see who they use - because I felt like *just a number* to them. I could not get someone to actually answer my questions or they would give an answer they already gave, like they didn't bother to read the entire thread. And you never get to speak with someone on the phone. I miss being able to email or text my accountant an hop on the phone and have something clarified for me. I paid for a full year but will be switching back to an accountant I can get in touch with on the phone. It has been a very frustrating service. I was hoping that this would put my accounting stuff on autopilot and instead, it has created way more work for me.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. If they resolve my concerns, I will remove this review. Edit: They partially addressed by concerns but as of 6/19 I am still not happy since I got letters from two states that my taxes were incorrect.

I was referred to Heard by a colleague and at first they were very helpful and kind. Then tax season started and they have been shockingly inept and difficult. One person finally started being helpful and two others interrupted the conversation with unhelpful commentary. I reached back out to the person who recommended it to me and she shared that she started to have terrible experiences. Then I spoke with another colleague, and she also had a terrible experience and they completely messed up her taxes this year as well.

The team is so very responsive. I never feel like I am asking dumb questions which was especially helpful as I am new to private practice money management. It was the easiest bookkeeping and also tax filing experience of my life, even with multiple income streams. The ease of tax estimations and filing components makes this totally worth the price and the bookkeeping is a great added bonus. I love being able to see my expenses and income so easily to track how I am doing.

My experience with Heard was completely disorganized and unprofessional. Their response time was unacceptable, if they responded at all. There were messages that they claimed they sent that I never received. I rarely messaged with the same person. When I asked to actually speak to a human, that request was ignored. Heard caused me more work, more frustration, and I ultimately filed annual taxes on my own because I was so worried I was going to miss the deadline. Heard did refund my prepaid annual subscription and immediately cancelled my account, so I couldn't even review the messages confirming this.

Everyone at Heard has good energy and brings their expertise with a personal touch. Everything about Heard is easy and streamlined and I'm so glad that I have joined. Only wish I had heard about it earlier!!

I appreciate the reminders. With Heard, they keep track of the things I may forget to do or wait to do.

Best money I've spent on outsourcing! Heard has taken everything bookkeeping / financial / taxes off of my plate and done so seamlessly! I feel so much more in touch with my business financials month to month. I also used them for my business tax return and personal tax return. Everything was clear, on time, and professional. They are also super responsive via the chat/conversations feature if I have questions.

TLDR; Heard has been wonderful and I recommend them to all of my therapist friends!

Heard has been such a help for my private practice especially during tax season. Trying to do the things that they do on my own would have been so difficult for me as I am new to all of this. I would recommend Heard for a private practice with no hesitation!

I used Heard during 2023 and it made bookkeeping painless! They sent emails frequently to remind me when to submit my bank statements or review my transactions. Heard also prepared my taxes--personal and business--with no additional charges. I didn't need to worry at all about finances.
I've continued using Heard's services this year so there's one less administrative task to take me away from counseling.

Heard has made my first full year in private practice such an easier transition than anticipated. With all of the anxieties involved in launching a new business, the actual money and business aspect was by far the most intimidating, especially quarterly and annual taxes. Heard truly made the process of bookkeeping, paying taxes, and getting annual taxes submitted such a breeze it's almost unbelievable. They are very responsive, the platform is intuitive and easy to use, and it makes the most complicated parts of owning a private practice far less difficult, allowing me to truly focus on my patients and professional development. I can't recommend Heard's services enough!

I recently started my private practice as a clinical mental health counselor just as a side hustle and did not know a thing about bookkeeping, taxes, business expense write-offs, etc. I did my research and asked around and came across Heard. Their useful and pertinent articles related to finances around running a business as a therapist got me interested, and their free webinars and free promotional trial period got me hooked.

I am so glad I decided to utilize their services, which although may seem a bit pricey, especially for someone like me who is just starting out and only doing this part-time, was well worth it for the confidence and peace-of-mind from knowing that I am well-taken care of in terms of the financial side of my business. Case in point: I used Heard for tax preparation this year (the first time I've ever used a professional tax preparation entity) and was shocked to see that I would refunded $2,000+ for this year's return. Not to mention that you can bill Heard services as a business expense and reduce your financial load anyway!

Although some things could use some improvement, such as software issues when I accidentally add a business expense but can't change or delete the value of the expense on my end (I have to ask my bookkeeper to do it every time, which can get cumbersome if you're prone to mistakes like me lol), these gripes are minor and insignificant compared to the wealth of support, information, and comfort that I get by using them and knowing that they work hard to make things as easy and profitable for me as possible.

I could go on and on, but the tldr is that I'm glad I use them and I don't plan on using any other bookkeeping management company anytime soon. I no longer have to worry so much about the financial side of running a business and can now focus my energy on the things that I do best.

This was my first experience working with a tax professional both for individual and business. I was really pleased with the process of submitting my documents, having my questions answered, and my information was filed on time. Absolutely recommend using Heard and their tax filing service that is included.
