The model was poorly designed to get to work well. More improvements in the way it is put together is needed so gears line up better. Gave it two stars for looks only.

Can’t even review the product yet as it hasn’t been received. Ordered several weeks ago. I am in total belief that this company is somehow making up tracking data. Item gets to a location then sits for several days with a USPS tracking number that if you go to the USPS tracking website it says waiting for item then it sits for days. I totally understand sitting possibly for days waiting for the item to clear customs but once it’s in country it just sits with false misleading information.

I have 3 Mecrob Steampunk models with another on order. Great quality with step by step instructions. Can be fiddly but very satisfying when completed. Support has been helpful. Shipping times can be long depending on stock availability and air shipping from China.

I built the Athercore Base. It is very difficult to assemble. Getting some nuts on screws in tight spaces is very difficult. The gear that moves the arm up and down has too much play because the holes holding it are oblong with nothing to keep it in place. It doesn't align and mesh. There was one minor part missing that I could do without. Sad to spend so much time and effort building this and it malfunctions.

Bought a combo Aetherwings and Aethecore which once built, are outstanding to watch The models are not easy to assemble it at least the one i did, the customer service could be better, they were very nice to ship the order and some replacements parts free of charge which I broke during the assemble,the only reason why i did not give 5 stars is because instructions manual are too little and if you need some help with support or delay of you parcel you don't really get any responses, which it's not very nice. Besides that the models are outstanding.

I'll admit I was a little anxious about ordering from Mecrob. Would the kit be as good as described? Would I actually be able to build it? Would it even arrive?

Well, I'll never be anxious again. Minerva's Mercy arrived in the stated time (around 2 weeks, perfectly acceptable) and was beautifully packaged and presented. The instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow. There were a couple of ambiguities but they resolved themselves as the build progressed.

There were no missing parts and, in fact, plenty of spares should anything break (nothing did).

Including decent tools was a boon. All I had to add was a couple of pairs of tweezers - try screwing on a 2mm nut with fumbling, slightly shaky sausage fingers :-D

It took me about 3 days to build as I've never attempted anything like this before (and I'm old and shake a bit) and I have to say I enjoyed every moment.

The end result is fantastic, absolutely awesome.

I won't hesitate to buy another model as soon as funds allow.

The nidhogg main body does not include head or wings. Intentionally misleading your customers is not cool.

I ordered 2 kits, and got a great offer on a 3rd, so I ordered that one also. Got both sets in less than 2 weeks, and even got some freebie specials added, which was great.

I can't give them 5 stars. It's true they're not 100% on the parts. The first small robot kit I built, one piece was missing from Step 1. Not a good way to start. So far I'm though the 2 small kits, i was able to rig the piece I needed. But if you don't have extra parts, you might be stuck.

A really good company to deal with I have bought several models from Mecrob and the after sales service has been second to none they really bend over backwards to make sure you have a good build and best of all they always reply to e mails promptly As long as I am able I hope to buy a few more models from Mecrob.Bernard

Ordered the scavenger and spider that did arrive in good time but was disappointed with the model as I found the cheap ones went together better than this and I completed it in at least half time less time than stated, It doesn't stand very well, After giving them a low review on website they have removed it and probably why there's not many reviews on there, For this alone I won't buy from them or recommend them

Was a little concerned ordering from them due to some poor reviews, but I decided to take a gamble.
Really pleased with the lantern fish I purchased. Item arrived in about ten days from china to the uk. Really nicely boxed and good instructions. The model was a joy to make and had plenty of spare parts left over. If I’m after another model to make I would decently use mecrob again.

The kits are really fun and challenging to build. The packaging is good and the instructions are well laid out. I've built several of the Mecrob kits and plan on building several more. The kits make you use your hands and brain which is very beneficial at any age!

Without explanation my orderxwas refunded. Never heard why. Very disappointing when I was trying to buy birthday gifts. Maybe more communication next time?

Got my kit reasonably fast. Not yet completed but close. Only had one question and got a response that solved my question/problem quickly.

I love the overall idea of this product and so pre-ordered it. If there was two word I could use to describe it my time building this it would be poor foresight. As cool as this product looks it is a bad time to put together the tools include for how much you pay is a joke barely able to tighten some screws. I'd that was not bad enough when you bulid the leges you might run into this really annoying issue when tightening the bolt where the things you are tightening down move around so you have to send more time fixing then then going back to tightening. We'll we are on the subject of the legs there is a spring that you have to bend each side why these don't come pre bent I have no clue. During assembly because of this 6 of the 8 have broken off trying to make this thing stand. Ohhh did I mention mine can't stand no matter how hard I tighten it it won't stay up at all it falls then looks stupid on the floor. Going back to building if you have big fingers I'd just stay away, I have small to medium sized hands and the stupid reaching you are going to have to do to get some of these screws nuts on is almost impossible. It is as if the came up with the design first and did not test if some of these secrews were possible. I would say the majority of my time building this was trying to get the world's smallest nut to screw one turn on so I could even attempt to tighten it. When you get done with the base of the spider you are not done there is a separate bag with the eyes you need to add. If you were as lucky as me you got a second pair that you can do something with I am sure. Maybe they would fit on your cats head? As soon as I found out it did not even come with the battery's to make it work, I could just sense that this would not be a good time from this point on so I oppted to just have two unmade eye modules. so now the dog won't be jealous of the cat.
