Tropical Glitz Is dangerous!
Tropical Glitz is a dangerous, unreliable company that doesn’t care about its customers. I ordered their 2K High Build Primer, Snow White, Miami Beach, and 2K Clear Glamour Coat five times for my 2000 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide, and every step was a costly disaster. Their paint quantity recommendations are a lie. They suggested a gray base coat under Snow White, so I used their 2K High Build Primer, but the Snow White applied so light and misty, I had to reorder multiple cans to get enough coverage. Miami Beach was just as bad—four to five heavy coats, even with wet applications, couldn’t hide the white underneath, forcing me to buy more paint over and over, burning through time and money.
One Miami Beach can was defective. Despite shaking it thoroughly, it barely sprayed metallic flakes until the end, when it dumped a ton, requiring me to sand and repaint. Their cans are a gamble—some work decently, others are complete trash. Shipping was a scam; every order took a week or more despite paying for 2-day delivery, with flimsy excuses about UPS scanning that reek of false advertising.
The 2K Clear Glamour Coat was a health hazard. The can has a plunger-like pin tube inside a tube at the bottom, and you’re supposed to push a red button to mix the hardening agent. When I followed their instructions—shaking for two minutes and pressing the button—the plunger had a hole and sprayed chemicals everywhere, over a foot out, like a toxic geyser. It ruined my fairing’s paint job, forcing me to sand and repaint with Miami Beach and Snow White. Worse, I inhaled the fumes because their instructions never mentioned needing a gas mask during mixing, putting my health at risk. I’m stuck with this defective can and no guidance on what to do with it. Their instructions also failed to specify the full cure time, so gasoline wrecked my gas tank’s finish after 48 hours, leaving it cloudy. I tried fixing it with Dawn, Meguiar’s, and Goo Gone, but the damage was permanent. When I asked for clarification, they had no answers and offered no help.
I sent Tropical Glitz a video of the defective can and an email (which I carefully drafted to outline their failures), and their response was a dismissive “would you like a refund or another can?” I told them I inhaled their chemicals, that their product was dangerous, and that I needed a replacement since I’ve used their paint for nearly my entire bike and can’t mix brands. They’ve completely ghosted me since—days later, no refund, no replacement, just silence and games. I tried to be patient, stayed positive, and avoided bad-mouthing them on social media, but their negligence and worthless customer service pushed me to my limit. These people don’t give a damn. Their products are inconsistent, their instructions are dangerously inadequate, their shipping is a lie, and their support is nonexistent. Avoid Tropical Glitz unless you want to risk your money, time, and health.
