Quick to take your money, non-existent with customer support

Getting Nintendo Switch to actually support you (as a customer) is a total nightmare.

I accidentally bought Mario Kart for a birthday party specifically to run a 4v4 setup across two consoles. Nintendo does NOT make it clear that you are capped at 2v2 per Switch in local wireless.

The contrast in user experience is insulting.

Purchase was super easy. They’ll take your money at a premium price point in a few minutes with just a few steps to checkout.

For customer support, I had to jump through endless hoops just to submit a refund ticket.

And there was no follow up. They haven't even replied to my ticket.

They are happy to charge "Nintendo brand tax" prices, but apparently, that doesn't cover the cost of a basic customer service department. If you have an issue, expect to be ghosted.

The BS your going to face with nintendo

Trying to create a nintendo account is like speaking to the dumbest person you have ever known. Why are you telling my password is incorrect when I put the exact password with it written down and put correctly? Speaking of nintendo again with their mundane and money hungry practices such as asking for 90 dollars for a older updated game and requiring a credit card for nintendo online gift card with money in it. The process for creating an account and trying use a nintendo online is like speaking to person that is both deaf and blind. Since you would get no response and dead silence. Speaking to wall is more efficient than getting help with nintendo. So note this when dealing with nintendo just don't with their long and unnecessary complex account creation. So please do not trust nintendo with your money because you are better off trusting the money off to a stranger than nintendo. To end this off please I beg you give a nintendo a bad review due to their annoyingly buercractic system that is worse than the DMV and please support the people in strife with nintendo and with their practices.

We sent in a Joy-Con for repair due to a known defect for the Nintendo switch 2. After waiting almost a full month, we received it back in the same broken condition, with no repair completed.

This was incredibly upsetting for my child, who is autistic and struggles with big emotions the anticipation and disappointment were devastating. Waiting that long only to have nothing resolved is unacceptable.

What makes this worse is that this issue is widely known, yet customers are still left jumping through hoops for a basic fix. The lack of clarity, follow-through, and empathy in this process is extremely disappointing.

Nintendo can and should do better, especially when families are involved.

Refused refund for accidental double purchase

Nintendo claimed that a DLC purchase on a parent’s account would be available for use by child within the same family. In practice this did not work, which led to a second purchase of the DLC on the child’s account. Nintendo then refused to refund the initial purchase of the DLC content which remains unused. This was despite the error being noticed quickly and the request made using Nintendo’s own email template. They do make it clear that there is no right to a refund, but it does feel like a needlessly tight policy, and the customer service representative was oddly rude about it.

Greedy business model

It feels unreasonable to first buy a Nintendo Switch, then purchase a game, and on top of that be required to pay a monthly subscription just to play online multiplayer.
This comes across as greedy and unnecessary, especially when the same games can be played online for free on PC and mobile platforms.
This business model makes me reluctant to buy any more Nintendo products in the future. If you want to play multiplayer without additional subscription fees, PC seems to be the last platform where customers are not charged extra.

Nintendo is going fully techno-feudal

THE most awful customer service experience I have ever had, their terms and conditions contradict their information on the receipt of the email in the EU branches of the company, stating you are eligible for a refund up to 14 day after the purchase but when you contact support to request this they state it's not possible. There is no customer service phone number, there is no compensation for the mistreatment of customers, and more, they actively steal money from your bank account without any accountability by employing unlawful practices. For instance last year without my wanting I was offered nintendo online service for free, didn't use it, didn't care, and what happened after those months were up? I was charged automatically for 3 more months, with no way of getting my money back, with no way of talking to real people, just being passed around from incompetent person to incompetent person via email constantly. The Europe branch has no active call center, no complaint line, nothing. It's honestly embarrassing for such a large global company to run like a mafia, and the customer is powerless to do anything. I will never be giving money to this company again, the nintendo switch is officially my last nintendo console and every game I purchase from now on will be a second had physical copy, they won't see another dime from me and lost a milti-decade long customer with these unlawful and despicable practices. Good riddance.

I like NINTENDO.

"Quote".: (Direct Shipping): Official support states that there is no delivery on Saturdays or Sundays. This is usually true for the USA, but even in Germany, Saturday delivery by Nintendo itself is unlikely.

Amazon & other retailers:

Standard Shipping: Often only weekday delivery, but the shipment can be dispatched on Friday and arrive on Saturday.

Express/Premium Shipping: Sometimes there are options for Saturday delivery, but this must be explicitly selected and costs extra (e.g., with Amazon Prime and its specific service).

DHL: DHL delivers on Saturdays as standard, but the online shop must choose the shipping provider accordingly and offer the option.

Conclusion: If you want fast delivery, carefully check the retailer's shipping options; Saturday delivery is possible if the retailer offers express shipping or if standard delivery is dispatched on Friday, but it is not guaranteed. | Well, I ordered on Tuesday evening, with two packages, each significantly exceeding the €80 and €500 values. "Free instant delivery" within 1 to 2 days is advertised. The tracking code isn't working. It's now Sunday. No confirmation email for anything, except that the package couldn't leave the shipping depot, and even that was only on the website... The prices for the games, most of which are digital-only, are ridiculously low compared to reputable Amazon sellers, and they're not even physical copies. I compared it to importing a Switch 2 controller from England on Amazon, which was supposed to take at least four weeks for shipping... it arrived in just under three weeks. And that wasn't even express shipping. The Switch 2 is supposed to be "shipped" directly from a depot in Hamburg to Munich in 1-2 days?! Maybe slightly Cringe. And of course, the thing doesn't have an OLED display, so the scam can really pay off. It's bad enough that the console is, to put it mildly, technically lagging behind for more than half a decade, outdated or even worse than current standards. But hey, there's a silver lining, at least. The key fob that was supposed to be included free with the purchase of 500 platinum coins... It's already arrived. Now I have a fob that's not worth €3, but at least I don't have a €470 console. The fob, by the way, came from Berlin. That's about the same distance: six and a half hours by ICE train from Munich's main/Central Station. Miracles do happen... A slight wince of vicarious embarrassment, not to say miserably incompetent. That should be the company's guiding principle. Those who are greedy and don't deliver should be eliminated. :)

My special-needs son purchased some games on his sister’s profile by accident and Nintendo refused to switch them to his profile because it had been over seven days. Now I shouldn’t have trouble switching a game from one profile to another without having to purchase it again the fact that they want us to purchase the game again proves that they are greedy and do not care about their customers if I were y’all and I was going to purchase a Nintendo game do not purchase a digital download. It’s a big racket and all they want is the money
