Never purchase gift cards from this incompetent company. Purchased a gift from a friend for christmas and when they come to scratch off the code, the start was completely missing. Contacted support who gave me the supposed code only to give it to my friend and find it's already been redeemed. Conta ted again and there's nothing they can do - so they take take your money and you get nothing in return. Total scam never buy these gift cards in store you'll be literally throwing your money away.

Game Pass is trash!

Game Pass is trash!
Many games that are available with game pass that are installable don't install. Trying to manage gamepass game doesn't work. I bought a game on xbox store (bought, not downloaded through game pass), then deleted the game to save storage. Later I upgraded my game pass and wanted to redownload the game I bought, and xbox did not save my purchase history so it wanted to charge me again for the same game. THIEFS! You owe me money. Options for installable games is extemely limited as most GamePass games are available through cloud gaming. Xbox is dying and I am ready to say my good byes. Thiefs.

Do NOT buy digital games.

I bought an online game, played it a little bit, realised the game wasn't like it'#s description at all. Requested a refund and boom "can't refund digital games as they've been consumed"
I don't remember downloading the game and unlocking some special level-up perk that sticks with me for life, of course I should be able to refund it, give me my money back and remove access from the product. I've done it before in the past, but as of recent it's all about consumption.

My 11 year old son was locked out of the user login to his Xbox. I have tried repeatedly to login and when I called customer service they offered no help other than a huge URL for support that I had to manage after spending hundreds of dollars for a useless box. Disappointing, Unacceptable.

Dear Microsoft, thank you very much for decimating my faith in Xbox, I've had every Xbox model since Xbox 360.

I purchased the Xbox one series X in August 2025, I was very happy with it until Xmas evening when I decided to play it my younger brother as it was our tradition, upon setting it up I started it up in order to pair a brand new controller, half way through the process the Xbox produced sparks from the back of the console and switched off, it did not come back on.
As it was very much within it's 1 year warranty i was not worried and promptly drove to my local Currys branch as instructed to by the Microsoft repair order options on your website, this was on the 5th of January.
I received a txt message yesterday, the 22nd of January saying my Xbox would be redelivered on the 23rd of January, which it was, i picked up, drove 30 minutes home , connected it and yet again MY XBOX DID NOT SWITCH ON.
I am more than an casual player, i play competitive FC26 in a VPG league. My absence could cost me my place in the team.
This is unacceptable, I sent you my Xbox to be repaired and you have sent it back to me with the same issue. IT WILL NOT SWITCH ON, IT DOES NOT WORK.
I paid almost £500 for an Xbox that I cannot use due to someone's incompetence.
FIX IT, SEND ME A LIKE FOR LIKE REPLACEMENT OR GIVE ME A FULL REFUND.

TRASH

Hi,

Per your instructions, I am replying directly to this email to create a written paper trail in text-only format.

I do not have saved transcripts from Xbox Support. My attempts to resolve this issue were conducted through live chat sessions and phone calls. Xbox did not provide transcripts, reference numbers, or follow-up emails for these interactions. Several chat sessions ended due to disconnections or transfers, and no written records were sent to me afterward.

Here is a chronological summary of my attempts to resolve the issue:

• I experienced multiple consecutive days where I had no access to PC Game Pass due to account/service issues on Xbox’s side.
• During this period, I contacted Xbox Support repeatedly over the course of more than a week via live chat and phone calls.
• Xbox representatives acknowledged technical or account issues but did not restore service in a timely manner.
• Despite the service outage, I was charged the full monthly PC Game Pass subscription fee.
• I did not receive a credit, refund, or written confirmation resolving the issue.

I have made repeated good-faith efforts to resolve this matter directly with Xbox. Xbox has not provided written responses, transcripts, or follow-up documentation despite these attempts.

I am seeking an appropriate credit or refund for the billing period during which I was unable to access the service I paid for.

Thank you for reviewing my case.

Sincerely,
Rajesh Shankar

Their customer support site is like a labyrinth, except the Minotaur in the centre just wants to waste your time. It is designed to put people off cancelling or requesting refunds and is incredibly predatory. You can't even speak to a customer service agent, you're instead made to speak to other "experts" and by expert they mean some dude who owned an X-Box back in college and has zero ability to help. Avoid like the plague.

"Play Anywhere" are not worth more than the words

I purchased the latest version of Diablo IV for a week ago, played it on Xbox for less than an hour, with the expectation that it would align with Microsoft’s widely promoted “Play Anywhere” philosophy. The game is developed by Blizzard Entertainment, a studio owned by Microsoft, and is available on platforms that are also owned and operated by Microsoft (Xbox and the Xbox PC app). Based on this, I reasonably expected that a single license would allow me to play on both Xbox and PC while continuing the same progress.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. The license does not transfer between Xbox and PC, requiring the purchase of two separate licenses. When I contacted support to request a refund due to this limitation, my request was denied. I reasonably expected that a single license would allow me to play on both Xbox and PC while continuing the same progress, consistent with the approach taken by many other titles.

This is particularly disappointing because cross-platform access with a single license has been one of Xbox’s strongest selling points and a major reason Microsoft has cited when acquiring game studios. In this situation, where both the developer and the platforms are owned by Microsoft, the lack of cross-platform licensing feels inconsistent with Microsoft’s own messaging and difficult to justify.

If this were a third-party title outside of Microsoft’s control, the limitation would be more understandable. However, when Microsoft owns the studio, the platforms, and the ecosystem, customers should reasonably expect better integration—or, at the very least, fair refund options when those expectations are not met.

As a result of this experience, I cancelled my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and decided to move to another platform. The ability to purchase one license and use it across console and PC was my primary reason for choosing Xbox, and this experience has significantly diminished my trust in that promise.
Overall, Diablo IV itself may be a strong game, but the licensing and customer support experience within the Microsoft ecosystem leaves much to be desired.

I bought Xbox gift card today for $150

I bought Xbox gift card today for $150. It said it was activated on the receipt as I scratched the back to get the code everything looked good I had to send a screenshot of the code to my husband over seas cause he on a mission for the military and our only way to communicate is through this was or if he needs things like personal items etc. well he told me he put the code in and it said "your card has been used by someone else" he put in the amount it asked for so it was $150 the code and the status said cancelled. So I'm very pissed off that this happened. I would love if someone would reach out to me or respond so we could resolve this issue
