Update to previous review about Rathwood on 30th January. Received a reply from Rathwood on the 1st February stating that they were truly sorry for the inconvenience caused to me and that my refund is logged with their team and notify me as soon as it is completed. We'll I have heard all this before and have heard nothing to date or any refund. This is more than just an inconvenience to me, I just want my own money back. I mean my original order was last June and cancelled last November so that speaks for itself.

Ordered a recliner chair for Christmas after taking my hard earned money told me it was out of stock. 2 months later and still no refund, despite emails and refering to my Bank for charge back. Next step legal action. To call them a disgrace is being kind. Scammers.

This company have become an utter disgrace. Scammers is a mild term. Ordered a piece of furniture in October 2025. Rathwood cancelled the order in December. Offered a refund. No refund processed. I waited for over an hour on the phone in December to end up with a dropped call. Five emails sent to no avail. Several phone calls made and was told a complete lie on January 24th that the refund was processed. Agent would not escalate my call today to a manager. Said that’s not possible. Which, if true, is pathetic. Said they’d escalate an email to finance dept to expedite
The refund (same line/lie every time) and then email me the details. They did not. Waiting on a manager to call me back. I’ll not hold my breath. The customer service agent was based in a call centre in the Philippines. So they’ve outsourced this horrible job to people who are paid a pittance to listen to furious customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. What a pity this company has hit the toilet. Have purchased from them on several previous occasions with no issue and goods were quality items. I will never use them again.

Awful experience dealing with this company. I have previously ordered firewood from them and have been happy however in this case I ordered firewood last June. At the time it was to be delivered in August however I realised I would not need it by then so asked to have it delivered in December instead. At the beginning of December no firewood arrived. I spent a lot of time in December making calls to the customer service line. The average wait time was one hour 45 minutes. In some cases my call was dropped. At the end of January I was told that one of the pallets was outsized and could it be delivered in a bag instead. At this point I had had enough and on January 29 I cancelled my orders. I was told that I would receive a refund within 10 days however I rang this morning, Feb 12. I was told that no refund had ever been processed.
When you ring youreput through to a call centre all these people are doing is submitting requests through a portal to Rathwood themselves. It’s an utterly pointless and useless customer experience.
I have been told that my refund will be processed yet again, but I’m not hopeful.
My order numbers were SO235326 and SO235327.
It’s a shame this company has gone downhill.
I have contacted the CCPC to report this issue and would urge others to do likewise.

This review is separate from the fuel debacle. I originally ordered a suitcase back in November. Didn’t realize there was a 8 week lead in time. Surprised me but was in no hurry. Checked on it after a month and was told that it was out of stock. Asked what else I wanted. So decided on decorative tree for Xmas. After few weeks I was told that my suitcase had arrived damaged and what would I like to replace it with. Explained that I had already ordered a decorative tree because I was advised out of stock. After a few weeks (after Xmas now) chased my tree. Was told this was no longer available (?). They offered a similar item. I said yes that would be fine. Chased this after a few weeks and was told that the similar item was no longer available. This company is hopeless bordering on fraudulent.
I currently left it with an instruction to send me absolutely anything, in stock and arriving within a few weeks? I simply don’t care anymore. Will update if this general instruction is met ! Crazy stuff.

Phantom stools missing
We ordered a corner sofa set just over a month ago, taking care to ensure it was ‘in stock’ to avoid previous non deliver issues. The furniture arrived this week with a large sticker saying ‘damaged’ on the box- worrying. When we opened it up, all looked good until we realized all 3 stools were missing. I phoned the customer helpline who asked me to send a picture….. ‘Sorry are you asking me to

Horrible Order Updates & Service
While the product was (mostly) as pictured (colour was slightly different), I think the quality does not justify the price (€300+) nor the hassle I went through after ordering for delivery.
Took 2 months for my delivery to arrive. In that time, I received no updates or information from them without having to email several times. Getting helpful information and updates from customer service in a timely manner was like getting blood from a stone. Took two weeks to get an update from purchasing despite my numerous emails.
When my package finally arrived, a piece was missing and, to be honest, I'm not requesting a replacement piece as I'm afraid it'll be summer before it even gets processed!
Will not be ordering from them again. Horribly stressful experience.
