Wow. Hard, but rewarding

encrypted by shifting left 1, cycle letters only, base layout = qwerty (if confused, then by the method, pyummuxlk should decypher to quizzical and the translation applies to just the letter keys.)

90% of the difficulty was just getting the third line right. 11/10, amazing game.

Ah why not share my solution. (using VIGINERE KEY) [NXGKR IGMMW NDXKA AMTIB FJPVQ ACMTI]

Good twist.

here's my solution! (Viginere Key: SHOWYHOMES) [KWOYC LDUGK UPBAQ ASBMV XVIJB]

Love this, all the way through I was thinking I was probably only doing it in one way and there was probably a way to do it in fewer words, but then the final reveal that this is a unique solution.

Genius. Well done!

Really fun concept and a fantastic execution. Love the end ;)

Augh, I'm on AZERTY but the game uses QWERTY, so when I press my A key it enters Q. That's gonna take me a minute.

Took me a minute but managed and aah, that was fun and brainscratchy. Nice! :D

Strong finish.

Figured it out. Awesome puzzle!

loved this, particularly the reveal and the bonus of course.

(+1)

Whoah, incredible idea! I love how the surprise is set up.

FANTASTIC!

truly amazing

(+1)

Awesome puzzle, this is so confidently designed! All the answers are there, you just have to find them.

(+2)

Cool fun puzzle!

Spoiler My 3rd word had an N for 3rd letter and wasn't PINES. O_o

Really lovely.  As I was finishing, I thought, "Is the solution unique? Could I have done it in fewer rows?" but the bonus question answered at least part of that. :-)

(+1)

Such a clever fun puzzle and the final bonus question got me so good. Great puzzle.

That was fascinating. Thanks!

Very cool idea! I think what I came up with should count as a solution too but alas it didn’t work, and that left me wondering if I understood the idea correctly. Otherwise a great game.

[Solution spoiler!] My non-accepted option that I feel should have been accepted
  • SPACE
  • EPICS
  • PINES
  • ASPER
  • THETA (this one should be optional IMO)
  • LOAMY

I found later in the comments that when the last word is SPICE but I’m not sure I would have easily figured that out as nothing points at that.

(+5)

what points to it is that

spoiler you need to "solve" the wordle puzzle in order to progress to the second part, so that means you need to end with SPICE to trigger that

Amazing idea and executed brilliantly!

(-3)

No keyboard sorry

(1 edit)

I haven't solved this yet but legendary idea! EDIT: Got it, wow!

(+3)

Grinned real big at the twist to this one.

(+2)

hahaha this was soooo good! i'm terrible at puzzles but once i figured out what was going on i was able to do it, really really fun

(+3)

Loved it!! I sent it to all my friends. If you ever want to add more, a keyboard for mobile would be amazing, then nobody would have an excuse not to try it. 🙂

Spoilers I really enjoyed the experience of solving the Wordle while thinking "But what do these symbols mean? When will the symbols do something??" and then to see the whole screen shift was such a delightful moment. And solving it from there was really fun! The little guys were cute - don't worry, I'll get you home!

Brilliant game, full of neat surprises!

LOVE IT. Such a fun use of perspective.

Here's my solution!
  • SPACE
  • EPICS
  • PIXES (I don’t think that’s a word, but it worked)
  • ASPEN
  • FOUND
  • SPICE

I like also that the bonus question has only one answer even though the middle 3 words can be different for everyone. Clever!! I wonder if you started with SPICE for the holiday theme and then saw Dune naturally arise? Neat!

(+1)

Silly question, but how do you add a spoiler expander section like that?

(+5)

You have to enable “Prefer Markdown input where available” in your profile and then use html tags like this https://itch.io/t/2151831/adding-spoiler-text-to-your-game-description

Pretty goofy, they should really just add an official way to tag em

So delightful! I had a big smile on my face and had lots of great a-ha moments. Excellent word discoveries and presentation!

Very nifty puzzle - loved it! Great bonus question at the end too.

this is great!! really clever overlapping of concepts. i really love the expectation of solving a puzzle initially, then backtracking to solve it in a different way. I’m surprised i got the bonus question, having not interfaced with the answer at all. i guess there’s some lingering trivia in the back of my head somewhere. it’s very neat that there’s a forced solution for those words, despite it not seeming that way when playing.

Cool puzzle. Bonus question made no sense, though.

Ha, very nice surprises.

This has a really nice feel to it, the progression from experimentation to partial knowledge to wider understanding to working out a solution.

Really great game.

spoiler I was stumped on the 3rd word for a while, trying to think of an anagram of "spice" that had all the letters in the wrong place, before realizing that the orange path can go into the 4th row.
(1 edit) (+1)

I don’t understand the bonus question at all. Any hints? (Or just tell me the answer, I wouldn’t mind that)

(+1)
spoiler

Do the sixth, first, and second word together describe anything you recognize? You need prior knowledge for the bonus, which might be bad puzzle design cuz it’s not signaled but I thought it’d be cool anyways

No, they don’t describe anything I recognise. Googling it didn’t help either.

Oh wait nevermind, I suddenly remembered. The answer is

spoilerdune

(+6)

solved the puzzle, that was fun! i technically solved the bonus question, but only because i looked up a list of four letter words and, no joke, went through each of the words in alphabetical order until i got it right, which was at 533 words. it makes sense in hindsight but i wouldn’t have gotten it myself since i didn’t know the reference already

(+2)

lmao insane

(+1)

Very clever how the constraints of the board gel with the constraints of the English language to allow that little flourish at the end there.
