Ruined Christmas

I purchased a waitrose xmas dinner for one for my mother in law who has dementia, we went to see her in xmas day and followed the instructions on the packet, the whole thing just melted into the plastic. It ruined her day and the baking tray, we couldn't actually feed her xmas day as no shops were open. We complained to waitrose and it took about 10 emails to finally get a ecard gift voucher for the six pounds back, i was appaulled, no compensation or a goodwill gesture for ruining her day and leaving her with no dinner. I haven't even excepted it, they can stick it where the sun doesn't shine, i will not set foot in a waitrose again, they clearly don't care about their customers

Bought to good to waste items potatoes/Satsumas

Bought to "good to waste items" Potatoes and Satsumas both dated 21/06/2025. Half the satsumas were moldy and the potatoes stank of wet mold , so they we actually waste and not "to good to waste". Tried to complain on the websiter but its does not allow complaints from Guernsey where they have to large stores ....probably because they would be overwhelmed.

A shadow of its former self

I once loved shopping at Waitrose now. I just feel that the company have taken a direction which doesn’t reflect the ones and needs of its customers. Staff in store are always lovely on the whole. My gripes first started with the my Waitrose card loosely termed loyalty program. I know I’m not the only one who thinks that this is pretty much one of the worst loyalty programs on the market from speaking to staff in store they get many complaints regarding the subject.

I’ve now started shopping at Tesco’s and whilst the stores aren’t as nice as waitrose, the prices are a whole lot better and their loyalty program is fit for purpose and getting vouchers based on how much you spend is a good way of rewarding customer spend and loyalty. When I use to shopping in Waitrose it was two or three times a week with an average spend of £80 to £100 each time.

Waitrose loyalty program gives you two vouchers each week but they are only good if you happen to buying the items that are listed 8 or 9 choices and even then you only ever save 50p on an item which is usually more expensive than anywhere else.

There’s no points system so you don’t get vouchers. Waitrose use the program to monitor your shopping habits like all cards do however the more you spend the less you seem to benefit for example my friend hardly shops at Waitrose and receives a bunch of vouchers for £10 off of £40 shop . I receive the vouchers at the same time for £10 of an £80 shop. How can this seem to be fair in anyone’s eyes?

I occasionally pop in to buy fresh fish on Friday to take advantage of the discount of 20%. However this has now changed the 20% is on the off certain listed items now in the fish counter and again seems like another downgrade to an already poor loyalty program.

I’ve talked to staff about this and they have received many comments from customers so I know I’m not alone. One staff member “supervisor” suggesting that she wished Waitrose should follow suit with other store cards offering a point system which could be turned into cash or vouchers to be spent Throughout the partnership.

I raise my issues with John Lewis and Waitrose regarding this and whilst they acknowledge my comments, they just justified there position and didn’t seem to value my feedback and therefore I chose to stop shopping with Waitrose and John Lewis if I can get what I want elsewhere.
It’s worth noting John Lewis‘s current advertising drive hailing the return of the never knowingly undersold! clearly removing this had led to customers leaving in droves and now the company is trying to get them back. Sadly it is always harder to bring back the customers that you’ve lost rather than showing them that they are valued and returning them which the company seemed to have learnt to their peril.

I’ve also noticed that waitrose have done away with their checkouts turning into self checkouts and only having a few of the face-to-face systems in place in stores. They have done this at a time when other supermarkets are considering the viability of the self check out as it’s clear that many customers do not like the system and prefer a face-to-face transaction.

All in all it seems that Waitrose is taking all of the wrong directions and I for one have lost patience and confidence and will continue to shop elsewhere.

Come on, Waitrose listen to your customers before you balls it up completely!!!!

Excellent delivery from Waitrose

Time has come for Waitrose staff,
Who are more tired and stressed over this Xmas time.
But grocery delivery doesn't come to a standstill.
This continues until the last delivery on its way.
