This company, "DRIVALIA", is a FRAUDSTER, THIEF, CON ARTIST, DISHONEST.
Last week, I went on holiday to Spain. Before leaving, I rented a car from this company, took out insurance on the car, and paid the full amount. When I picked up the car in Girona, they charged me again to hand over the car. They charged me twice for the same car. This company is DISHONEST, THIEVISH, and FRAUDULENT.
This company is involved in fraud alongside the DOYOUSPAIN company.
On 13 October, I went on holiday to GIRONA with my wife.
They ruined our holiday.

Emails to there customer services reference being charged for damage under the front bumper that was in my opinion covered by their damage records and seen by us on picking the car up on the 6 Jan 26.
They sent me a photo via email of damage that we were aware of. I asked could they provide a photo of the area with no damage around the 6th Dec. The answer was very dismissive. They don't take photos of the car where no damage exists. They didn't appear to have inspected the condition of the car before we collected it.
So they had no idea if the damage was caused during being cleaned etc, if they did it was ignored.
In my opinion I advise anyone considering hiring a car from them, don't as even the damage report you sign is often very inaccurate. We have hired over 15 cars from them over the past few years. We think 7 of those cars had to be checked again by their staff to record damage not recorded.
So be prepared for poor service and an even an argument if you don't have comprehensive photos, or one of the damage they have found?
Better still a video with the office and 1 of their reps in the background covering the underside in particular, the outside including the roof and the inside particularly the boot area including spare wheel pump kit.
Good luck with that sort of cooperation by the way!

This rental was booked via Sunny Cars, but at Drivalia Alicante Airport we were pressured into paying an extra EUR 39.58 for an unnecessary upgrade by a staff member who introduced himself as “John” and behaved in a rude and unprofessional manner. When we explained that we could not connect our Android phone to the Mini Cooper, he mocked us by saying “just hold the phone in your hand.” We refused the car and accepted a Peugeot from our original category, which was scratched on the outside and dirty inside. A refund was promised but poorly handled and required repeated follow-up. This felt like aggressive upselling combined with disrespectful service. Stay away if you value transparency and professionalism

My 3rd time with Drivalia Espana and will surely return to them. Nice car with good price. I love packages with full insurance - well priced, no stress. Staff always friendly and helpful. Whole process easy and quick. I highly recommend, only good experiences with Drivalia so far.

Have rented cars in Spain for over 20 years - have never experienced such poor service as from the staff in Alicante - There were 3 employees at the counter, no one who gave us a look, smile or welcome?? Then the 2 left the room, we then approached the 3rd employee, but he had just had time off, so we had to wait for the other 2? It only took 1/2 hour... I had rented 2 buses from Drivalia - Both were delivered 1 week ago, and everything is ok with my car - but they have deducted 264,- Euro from the other one, and we haven't done any damage or anything, and we have not received our fuel deposit back on this one either - I still have not received any delivery report or anything else on some of the cars?? We are still waiting for the report and answer.

Do Not Use. Even 1 star is being generous. Returned the car to the Murcia airport compound on December 28th. I was aggressively shouted at and pointed to where I should park the car. As I was unloading the car, along with my wife and sister, the agent walked up to the car and straight to the passenger side front wheel. He shouted "Damage, damage, " but made no attempt to inspect the rest of the car. He knew exactly what he was looking for. He accused us of damaging the alloy wheel, but refused to look at the photo evidence my wife took 4 days earlier on collection, clearly showing it was historical damage. He was rude, threatening and intimidating. He even admitted a man into the compound, who wasn't wearing a Drivalia uniform, who stood by the car, staring at us in a very intimidating and aggressive manner. The agent also threatened that he wouldn't take us to the airport, so I felt that I had no option other than to pay the €119 excess. I've never been treated so badly before or felt so intimidated. I will ensure that at every opportunity I will strongly advise people never to use Drivalia.

The collection at Murcia Airport was fine and the car gave us no trouble in Spain. On our return however the Drivalia agent went straight to the front passenger side wheel, showed us some clearly old damage to the wheel rim and accused of us of causing it. When we denied it and tried to find our pictures of the existing damage, the agent took my phone off me and denied that we had any evidence. We were forced to pay £104 even though we had fully comp insurance and threatened that we would not be taken back to the airport. A ununiformed thug was brought in to stand and stare at us threateningly whilst this was going on. We are a quiet couple in our mid sixties, we were not a threat to anyone. It was a dreadful experience - please do not use.

This is such an up and down company. I've had rentals and they've been perfect, but this time we had a terrible experience.
We returned our car on new year's eve and were told there was new damage. It was ridiculous. The scratch was about as thick as a hair and about an inch long.
I knew I hadn't done it and fortunately I'd taken a long video of the whole bodywork.
Unfortunately, while that's a comprehensive way of doing things, it meant that I wouldn't have been able to find the exact point in the video very quickly, which meant I was holding lots of people up behind me and had to accept the cost and argue about it later.
After backwards and forwards Emails, I managed to send the video to customer service and got the payment refunded.
This is not the first time I've expienced this and I had the same with another company, but what really annoyed me here was that 4 people in the queue in front of me also got accused of causing damage too.
This was obviously a deliberate scam and is a disgusting way of doing business.
The moral of the story is take dozens of photos, including any underbody you can see.
I'm looking to buy a car next time and I'll park it by the airport so I don't have to deal with this rubbish.

They charges me for a scratch on the bumper that presented already almost 5 scratches around, the check in indicated a damage on the zone but they Said that it was a new one! I didn t take pictures because it was night when we rented the car but we see the scratch on their pictures and they Said it was shadows!!I I Will never rent a car there .

The worst company. Our credit card was not accepted here. We were trying to pay a deposit with our credit card for €1400 without their insurance because our credit card covered insurance. Since the card was declined even though we called bank ( the bank said there was no attempt made on card). However, when we added their insurance then card was accepted. Complete SCAM. Also the mouthpiece in the office was rude. It was a female.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT: DO NOT RENT HERE ⚠️
This is not a car rental company; it is an extortion trap. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
My experience at the Barcelona Airport branch was a nightmare:
The Insurance Blackmail: I arrived slightly late due to traffic. The agent refused to release the pre-booked car unless I paid a fake "Reactivation Fee" that is not in the contract. He explicitly told me he would only waive this fee if I bought their expensive Full Insurance on the spot (which he admitted he earns a commission on). It is pure manipulation.
Police Involvement: This isn't one incident. During the 2 hours I spent there trying to reason with them, 5 out of the 6 customers present were fighting with staff over similar scams. The police actually showed up to intervene for another customer while I was there.
The Staff: The agent was aggressive, rude, and refused to give his name. When I pointed out that the police were there for another client, he said it was just a "normal day" for him.
I refused to pay the bribe/hidden fee, so they refused to give me the car. I was left stranded at the airport and had to book with a different company.
Save your vacation and your money. Avoid Drivalia at all costs.

Absolutely dreadful and disgraceful experience with Drivalia, Girona.
Firstly the car was old and battered , had done more than 75,000 km and had 14 ( FOURTEEN ! )listed areas of damage, all of which had to be checked. . On return a very minor , almost invisible, unlisted scratch , which I could not possibly have caused, was identified by the agent. Despite protesting I was charged €204.
I must have hired from Drivalia in Girona at least 20 times previously,( I have a house nearby ) but this was the first time I did not take out their full insurance ( € 380 for 19 days ). The agent could not care that I had been a regular customer for so long . There is no way that the minor blemish will ever be repaired
I would never contemplate using them again !

I had had a good experience with Drivalia in Italy, but here in Spain they gave me a car full of little scratches (at least 25 of them) and told me to go ahead and take pictures of the car so that if they found any scratch I could prove that it was there before. Well, it was impossible to take pictures of high enough quality to make it clear both the position and the entity of each damage (I swear that car was full of tiny scratches). I took a video instead but I probably missed a few cause when I returned the car they charged me 819€ cause I couldn't prove three little scratches were already there. And even if I did those, 819€ is DEFINITELY too expensive to polish three scratches anyway. I'm never hiring cars from Drivalia ever again.

I initially was concerned due to their poor reviews but their staff were very friendly and once I took their advice to use their own personal insurance and it that of the online broker I used to book car everything went smoothly and I had absolutely no issues. So I would really recommend taking out drivalias own insurance to avoid any bad experiences.

The first and last time we will be using this company at Alicante airport.
On arrival we notice the car had a heavy scratch bumper. We took comphensive photos.
On returning the car the Drivilia representative got on his hands and knees and insisted we had scratched the underside of the previously damage front bumper.
It seems this is their latest scam looking at other reviews.
Please avoid this company at all costs.

27 post indicating scammers on their google reviews so my experience was not a one off.
I have filed a request for investigation with the Municipal Office of Information and Consumer Defence (Valencia) OMIC , with the broker and with the insurance provider (btw not the insurance provider Drivalia offered I had the insurance via my broker)
If anyone else has had been scammed I suggest you do the same.
Never in 40 years of renting cars have I experienced anything like what happened to us at Drivalia. It was clearly a full on act and cash grab. The person doing the inspection opened the driver side of the car and proceeded to pull down some loose trim around the door, but she did not check the trim around any of the other doors. I guess it was not in her secret list of defects to capture. She then indicated 2 other defects and asked for pictures. We showed her the video we had taken which showed prexisting damage, but she said it was not clear and proceeded to write up the claim. As my husband proceeded to reach our broker by phone I took a snapshot pict of the video…zooming in clearly showed the damage was preexisting. They refused to accept the image saying that it was bad lighting from the video, what ?!
We did not give them permission to charge our card but the went ahead anyway and left the invoice on the counter and told us to make a claim if we wanted.
We left the invoice on the counter and I now leave this post with hopes that anyone else that has had the same experience will take the time to escalate concerns with the appropriate teams so that these scammers are held accountable and future customers do not have the same negative experience as we and many other have had.
A terrible end to a fabulous holiday.

TERRIBLE COMPANY, and what a shame as we have used them 4 to 5 times each year for the past 7 years, but have noticed the state of the cars are really in bad condition. Last week we picked up a car with about 20 issues on this. We took an indepth video, however, upon return the guy pointed out a small scratch to the back bumper not recorded on his sheet, but I had this already recorded on my video so ....so not happy he couldn't charge for that he moved on desperate to find another issue he could charge for and found it! yes you got it right under the front bumper which you cannot see at all from the front of the car. I desperately tried to magnify in to my video, and explained to him that we had not done this as we would have known about it and being honest people we would have mentioned it. All he could say to us was "shit happens" (please excuse my language and am actually disgusted that he would say this to a customer), but that is what he said to us and proceeded to issue an invoice for Euro 313.00 which he made us pay! We protested but he just carried on with his paperwork. Drivalia what has happened to you, you used to be so lovely to deal with and never had a bad word about the people or service, but the cars are terrible and the people no longer care all they want is to charge you for issues that were not your fault. Needless to say, we will not be booking with Drivalia ever again and are trying to find ways to contact the top person to see if he knows the dreadful service and money grabbing ways his staff are implementing so they can be called out. PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

Avoid this company they are shocking
We picked up a car in January 2026 the car was in terrible condition with scratches and damage on every panel and bumper, we waited 40 mins while the one person on the desk, argued aggressively with a customer that had been delayed and made them pay again for a larger car as they had them down as a no show, at this point we should have walked out because this company have an appalling attitude to its customers but they are situated away from the airport and i guess the shuttle bus wouldn't have been made available, nobody would help us with the vehicle handover even though we pointed out their was far more damage than was on the paperwork, we took photos but didn't take any of the underside of the vehicle where the exhaust pipe is located, as most of the damage was on bumpers or scratches in the middle area of each panel.
When we returned the vehicle they accused us of doing two small scratches next to the exhaust pipe and charged my credit card 370 euros for damage we definitely hadn't done, its no coincidence that the vehicle is showing other more extensive damage in the same area and has obviously had an impact before we got it, after no amount of complaining they wouldn't listen to reason and prefer treat people disgracefully with an attitude of win win at any cost, when we returned to drop the car off another couple were having an issue over a similar problem, again we were delayed more than 30 mins while they argued, when I got outside the office after a heated exchange another lady approached me with the same issue as ours, so that's 3 other people they have robbed for no reason, other than a disgraceful attitude to its customers, we were running late and had to leave or miss our flight, my warning to anyone that's hiring cars at Alicante airport is be very careful and avoid this corrupt organisation, I'm far too trusting of people, but I've learned my lesson the hard way, in future I will refuse a damaged car of such appalling condition and make sure I Video the whole car even the underneath panels that are out of site.
On a more serious note the brakes on the car were so badly maintained that any pressure to the brake pedal would thrust the driver and any passengers towards the windscreen, they obviously never repair their cars and extract monies by deception like they've done to us and the 3 other people who were in the office.
how many more people have they had ?
