This service is so useful and easy
This service is so useful and easy. Well worth the small fee for each bag as we fit heaps of soft plastics and other items that our council does not collect.
Premium charge for an inferior service
I used ReSmart’s postal service to work toward QANTAS Green Tier and was extremely disappointed.
I learned that the service is expensive compared to other providers, and the postal kit arrived with no instructions - literally just a pack of AUSPost satchels, not even self addressed or with any guidance on what or where to send items.
More concerning was the change to the Green Tier requirement from 3 returns to 5. Despite multiple emails, ReSmart would not honor the original terms I signed up for. They have also not updated QANTAS about the change, despite being aware of the issue for over a month. (As of now QANTAS still shows the same terms as when I signed up!) Even though ReSmart confirmed receiving my items, they refused to backdate my returns to count toward the revised target, meaning I would need to spend an additional $150 due to their rule change.
QANTAS has indicated they are aware of similar complaints and are reviewing the situation.
If you’re pursuing Green Tier, I recommend exploring alternative ways to achieve it rather than relying on this service. Separately, if you’re simply looking to recycle those hard to recycle items (such as soft plastics) responsibly, I have since discovered that there are other providers in Tasmania (and other states) - offering similar services at a much lower cost, and in some cases even free!

Need a way to contact ReSmart
Good service but a shame there doesn't appear a way that ReSmart can be contacted directly.
ReSmart Recyling Service - What an amazing service
What an amazing service! It is so convenient to be able to get hard to recycle items picked up from my house and know that they will be recycled or repurposed and not end up in landfill. Lots of regular communication regarding the process and what can be collected.
Always remove it on the day they said.
Always remove it on the day they said.
Easy to book a service.
Reliable service.
The pickup service is very reliable and the prompts, both email and text, for upcoming collections in great. I used the AI to identify objects to see whether they were recyclable and found it helpful
Brilliant service
This pick up is really convenient and fits so well with my philosophy of recycling. Great service.

The app makes it so easy to organise collection and to see what can be recycled.

It is so easy to and I'm greatful to save this plastic from landfill and the ocean.
Well done for constructing this idea.
I'm so glad the ReSmart service is available
It's great to be able to include many items that I wouldn't know what to do with (to recycle) as well as soft plastics. The service is efficient and the driver polite. As an avid recycler, I'm grateful for the ReSmart service.
I'm highly impressed again by ReSmart
I'm highly impressed again by this service. My 'difficult to recycle' items were all collected and are on their way to be responsibly given a second life.
Brilliant service
Brilliant service, they take everything that everyone else doesn’t – I wonder what my business case is for a refund from my local council because we aren't using the landfill bin!
First collection today - very happy with how it works!
Just had my first collection with RecycleSmart and I was really happy with how it went. Although most (but not all) of the items I recycled could have been recycled elsewhere for free, I am prepared to pay $15 for the convenience of having a one-stop-shop for recycling. No more looking up where to take various niche items or having a growing hoard of different recyclables waiting for the opportunity to drop them off at the various different places they have to go to. It also saves so much time in looking up what to do with things - if it's dry, not organic, and not dangerous, they'll take it. It also seems really flexible, if you need to change your collection date etc. Love it!
So easy to have the doorstep pick up…
So easy to have the doorstep pick up and to know all the things that are hard to recycle will get processed. Super easy app. Great value.
Web-site and App very buggy.
Great concept, but their web-site and app needs a bit of work. I reported these problems to ReSmart on 12-Dec-2025. Got the usual "We will investigate", with no indication of an ETA.
1. When attempting to login https:⁄⁄my.recyclesmart.com∕login It just shows the animation ReSmart /ReCycle / ReTurn / ... . Using incognito mode with Microsoft Edge does allow you to login. I have cleared the cookies (resmart.co and recylesmart.com). I am using the browser extensions AdBlockPlus, ShopBack, and others.
2. I had difficulty setting my PO Box as an address, even though you say you can deliver to PO Boxes.
3. It just placed my order without asking me to confirm my payment method or delivery address. Problem with Stripe.com .
4. Payment card surcharge is not shown prominently. This is illegal under ACL [Australian Consumer Law].
I love the contribution your recycling service is making to the environment. But your Web-site and App need a bit of work.

Service has changed (not for the better)
The transition is ridiculous and is something that needs to be looked at by the ACCC. The booking process has changed and council subsidised pick ups now require a credit card. However my booking was automatically changed to a paid service and I was charged rather than holding the card details for a missed pick up. Customer service was not helpful and dismissive. I would not recommend this service.

Avoid
Similar to other user reviews, I was scammed by this company. Driver claimed the recycling bag wasn’t there and I was charged the pick up fee anyway. Driver did call me afterwards to inform me he couldn’t locate the bag, but at that point he had already marked it as a missed pick up (and couldn’t reverse it). I walked downstairs and the bag was still there, simply got moved to the other side of the wall (given it’s an apartment building and the cleaners must have moved it to closer to the kerb for pick up). Essentially I paid for nothing and it appears this is how the company operates.

Paid $20 for no pickup, must pay again!?
Paid $20 for a pickup. Left stuff out the front. Driver never came, claimed he could not find the place / items. We had them sitting out the front in front of a door camera. Now customer support is telling us to pay again. Scam.
Edit: Suppot sent a photo of an intercom with my town house number typed into and claimed that was the pickup attempt. Problem is, we don't have an intercom at all. Everything was left at our front door which is accessible from the street. Plus, none of the neighboring buildings have an intercom that looks like that. Scam x 2.

Charged for uncollected bags
I used the app to edit my pickup and add extra bags. This required a photo of the bags. The photo never appeared to upload, nor was the request for additional bags confirmed. Because it was not confirmed I just left out the two free bags. Apparently the order for additional bags was actually accepted (but unknown to me). So two bags were left out and collected but I was charged for the additional bags $30, which remain in my garage. I requested a resolution e.g. credit for next pickup, or refund, or additional collection, but was informed “hope this clears things up for you! For future reference, it would be great if you could leave out all the bags when you're uncertain.” Essentially diverting the blame to me with no resolution. Out of pocket $30 with 6 bags uncollected.

Takes incorrect items and does't reply to emails
STEALS PERSONAL PROPERTY AND REFUSES TO REPLACE They missed the obvious bags left out with the pick up sign on them and instead took a random bag off the shoe rack on our front porch. We have been waiting for almost 2 months for them to reply to our email requesting the return of our items. There is no phone number to ring and no responsibilitiy for the mistake they made or the property they stole.
UPADTE: Their customer service team was full of excuses and deflecting blame. After an extensive email conversation which took multiple follow ups, they still refused to accept responsibility or replace the stolen items.
