I did the Artist course at Subsine and really enjoyed it.
Simon is an excellent teacher. He knows his stuff and is also super supportive and enthusiastic. He also knows when to push you out your comfort zone.
I found the process of being in the class and sharing music with other class mates and getting feedback really helpful and psychologically usefull.
Would highly recommend the course to anyone.

In my 60's as an analogue musician and lecturer, I was faced with teaching my students the basics of using Ableton to create their own electronic music. After diving around on Youtube and creating alarm and confusion for myself, I attended an Ableton online session and found out about subSine Academy of music. Since doing the online course and attending the Producers Weekend, I haven't looked back. Simon imparts knowledge and confidence, backed by huge experience, along with much fun. I have been able to help my students get started with electronic music and understand the issues and suggest solutions. All down to excellent tuition and support from this music studio and school.

Just finished the producer course with Simon and was no surprise after having done the creator course already that it was brilliant. Learned loads every week and had fun in the process, a lot of things he’s perfected himself through years of experience, you can’t go and find that stuff out. Well worth it! Will be returning as soon as possible and am looking forward to it. Go and see him you’ll not look back

TOPS!! Firstly Simon is a terrific teacher, his style of conveying knowledge and immersing you in the science and complexities of your DAW is great. Felt very smooth and methodical at the same time. Secondly the way the class itself is structured is masterfully put together and techniques/classes are easily retrieved!! The one-on-one follow-ups are also the cherry on top, and after my first session I banged out 2 short (although not perfect) complete songs in 3 hours! (sans mastering of course). You will make serious progress on this course and learn SOLID information I would gather at many levels! There are many things in this course I do not see the "other guys" ever even touching on, fundamental type stuff, you know, like from a guy that read the manual. I have/am taking several other little courses and this is by far my text book whilst others are of a little help here/a trick there. Enjoy!

Did a weekend course, it was excellent.. great teachers, facilities and course materials too. Friendly and well taught, covering loads of stuff well.

I attended Ableton Live Creator weekend course. It has surpasses all expectations I may have had. It was very informative and exceptionally well taught, and I am picky when it comes to teaching styles etc. It was amazing. Small group size and good atmosphere puts at ease. Loved it

I had a video-session with Simon Stokes, who allowed me to bring forward a couple of my Ableton Live projects and free reign to choose what aspects of the craft of producing I wanted to go over or learn more about. Super friendly and down to earth teaching style and overall a great introduction to subSine. I would encourage anyone looking to sharpen their craft to consider giving these guys a shout. I had a really good experience and will be back for more when the time comes.

Having completed the Beginners' and the Producers' courses of Ableton Live, I can honestly say I'm amazed at how much I've learnt. The 10-week long courses are logically structured, better than anything else I've come across. Simon Stokes, the tutor, knows Ableton inside out, but much more important, he's that rarity: an inspired and inspiring teacher. The support he gives the students is above and beyond, which makes the classes hugely enjoyable.

I've had a such a great experience at subSine | Academy . First when I wanted join to this Academy, I was quite worried about my language because English is not my first language. To be honest I've passed some ableton courses in my language before, But couldn't achieve to my goal experience as I could've done at SubSine Academy! If you are interested in or have dabbled in any music production using digital audio workstations such as Ableton and would like to learn more then you should take up a class at subSine academy. The courses on offer are tailored to whatever level you are currently at in making electronic based music production from beginner through to mastering or even modular synthesis/sound design. Each programme is taught by highly experienced tutors running either as one evening a week for nine weeks or condensed into two full day weekenders, whatever suits for time and travel. Every stage of learning is supplemented with easy to refer to comprehensive course notes and students are given practical tasks to create their own material based off what they've learnt during each stage of the lessons. You will also meet a network of likeminded people who all share the same passion in music irrelevant of genre/influences. Following on from completing one of the courses you can share your ideas, troubleshoot problems with tutors/students through the subSine forums and have the opportunity for your own music to be released on the subSine label and or have it played on their own radio show. From as soon as you walk into subSine academy you can see how dedicated to music the place is. It can seem daunting starting a course doing something you've never done before but you'll realise straight away that this place is very welcoming and has a very relaxed but professional atmosphere.

The courses themselves are top class, Simon the tutor is very friendly and you can see his passion for music straight away.

I've personally done the creator and producers course and have seen a massive difference in my music from when I first started using ableton.

This is one of the best schools for learning electronic music out there!! Having been both on physical courses at the school (Ableton Producer Course, leading onto the Ableton Artist Course), as well as the online courses - Ableton Push, and some other ones... they were all invaluable!
Simon is an Ableton Certified teacher, and a great tutor, at passing on his many years worth of knowledge/skills in the field. The classes are small enough to feel that you really connect on a personal level with the other students/teacher, and combined with some of the Artist masterclass' from many well known Producers/experts in the industry, I trully cannot express how much was learned in 2 short years of attending! A++ ... well worth investing! I will be back for more!

Having completed some studio courses and online courses I have to say that it’s the best decision I could have made for my music making journey! The guys are really really knowledgeable and helpful!! Highly recommend

I recently completed the Soma Skool Creator course at subSine academy. Being a fan of dance and electronic music since my early teens, this course gave me the ideal insight and knowledge base to finally start getting all those ideas and tunes I’ve had running through my head for years down and out there!

Most importantly you really can tell you’re being taught by a tutor that loves and is as passionate about the music and culture as you are, as well as learning from a very diverse range of students also on the course.

If you’re interested in music production at all this course really is a no brainer. Honestly, talk to the team if you’ve any questions at all. You won’t be made to feel daft and it’s a great friendly and inclusive environment in which to learn.

Safe to say, I’ll be making this music forever now! It is indeed a positive education.

This is the best course I've followed so far.
Simon is an excellent tutor, everything is clear and really really useful.
I've learnt so much (in particular in the sound designing part, which has been a huge lack for me I think) !
I've been using Reason for many many years and was quite reluctant to use Ableton Live.
But now I can't help using Live ! It really improves my workflow and how to quickly create the things that are in my head.
And this is thanks to Simon.

Simon is an absolute gent of a man. His knowledge shows with every question you ask him and he provides a very comfortable environment to learn in. Will be looking at booking again soon!

This was my 3rd time at Shoogle and it certainly won’t be my last. From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure being there. Simons knowledge in Ableton is second to none,aswell as his knowledge and expertise in electronic music production in general. The classes are taught in a friendly and engaging manner and nothing is too much hassle for him. I honestly can’t recommend Shoogle highly enough. With detailed and structured course notes and access to online tuition,every base is thoroughly covered. I started out with no knowledge of Ableton at all and now I’m aiming to get tracks finished and sent out to labels. Anyone looking to further themselves in electronic music production needs to get signed up for a Shoogle course asap.
