Formulaic, rushed, and low quality online lessons.

Easily the worst of the online lessons that I tried. Lots of different lessons, but generally of low quality (especially any of the fingerstyle etudes that Terry composed), formulaic, and rushed. This place seems a lot like a gold gym membership - high volume, no expectation that folks will actually use it, pressure to rejoin once cancelled, pressure to sign up for paid promotions, pressure to buy from his music store. No thanks. 100% do not regret cancelling.

Unfortunately I can’t give zero stars

Unfortunately I can’t give zero stars, but I would have done if it were possible. I purchased a course at a cost of $97 and received an e mail with a login directing me to my library. Nothing there, no course, nothing at all apart from a page marked library. Naturally I thought there must be a problem and contacted ULTP via e mail. 3 e mails later, still no response? I contacted Paypal to ask for a refund and they have opened a case having apparently contacting ULTP for comment. Still nonresponse. The ULTP web site gives a 100% satisfaction guarantee, but they don’t seem to honour it. I have now asked 3 times for a refund as obviously I am not even 1% satisfied. Mistakes can be made and if the company is genuine they will rectify it. However, nil response is not acceptable. So far I have received nothing for my money apart from a welcome e mail. I try to be fair in my reviews and if I do get a response I will do an update. At the moment I would advise anyone contemplating sending money with ULTP to think again.

There are a handful of online Ukulele…

There are a handful of online Ukulele stores out there.

You can purchase from nearly all of them with confidence but you should be aware of the practises of Uke Like The Pros.

1. They constantly increases the prices of their Ukuleles to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. They then offer a SALE where the sale price is more expensive than their competitors. Basically, it's not a sale it's PRICE GOUGING.

2. They will CHARGE you for a setup something no other Ukulele store will do. They are the only Ukulele store to do this. That is not to say that there is not a cost to all Ukulele stores. Reputable stores understand that they don't want to send you a Ukulele that does not play well (is not setup correctly). Unfortunately, ULTP do not see it this way. If you don't pay you will recieve a Ukulele that is not setup. They'll only setup your Ukulele if you pay them MORE money. Even when you agree to pay more money they offer 3 types of setup.

Basic/Intermediate/Advanced. Every other store provides a "Full Setup" for FREE. If you only purchase a basic setup from the UKLP and there are issues not covered in the basic setup they will send you an instrument that is not setup.

Basically, they do everything to squeeze every last penny out of you with their pricing model. You will likely end up paying more than if you purchase from another Ukulele store.. And if you don't pay the extra setup cost (which you don't pay with other stores) you'll recieve a Ukulele not setup correctly which is basically a sub par service.

I would not purchase form this store and would recommend asking in any Ukulele forum before purchasing for peoples experiences. You will be glad you did.

p.s I recently corresponded with the owner of this store in regards to the issue of them price gouging/artificially inflating their prices. The correspondence was via their Youtube channel. They have since deleted the video due to the outcry from the Ukulele community and the owner posted an 'apology' which was basically not really an apology but offering a 'free' basic setup for the month of August.. Which basically means after August if you don't pay you won't get a setup on your Ukulele.
