Purchased my first pair of boots for my wedding, emailed within the day of arrival
Regarding faulty boots, haven’t even worn them yet, after nearly a week I had a response asking for more photos of the boots in our, soles and tongue, sent these off and expressed my urgency for replacements, after 2 weeks of these boots no reply.
Absolutely love my new boots
Absolutely love my new boots. I thought I’d need to wear them in for a good while like my last pair - but they were comfy from first go! Nice chunky boys, give me a good extra couple of inches in height and loving the quality
AVOID! THEIR WEBSITE STOLE MY MONEY
AVOID! THEIR WEBSITE STOLE MY MONEY
Placed the order on Jan.4th for a 99 pound shoe, not a single update one month later, no order received, no customer service helping me despite the fact that I have reached out to them via online form and many times via Facebook. Customer service people include Clo and Olive, these people are not trying to resolve any issues and only delaying everything. I haven't got a refund yet and I don't know how long will that take. This place basically steals your money in the name of shopping. Avoid at all costs!!!
My first and last time buying Doc martens
My first time buying doc martens. Bought from asos but shipped directly from the manufacturer. The leather has split within the first year of light wear. No help from customer services from the manufacturer or retailer. Not happy
These will not last a year
These will not last a year, and Dr Marten will NOT stand by the product
DO NOT BUY THESE SANDALS, they are poorly made, not like they use to be, when they were made in England, I have had mine less than a year, hardly worn as I spent a long time in hospital not needing shoes, the soles collapsed inside themselves, so they end up not being even, and squash down flat, and my physiotherapist said dont wear them, take them back, you will end up with more surgery, I got a very unhelpful staff member called Blake, he is trying to say wear and tear, 1 year warranty not covered, off to consumers now. AVOID SPENDING ANY MONEY ONLINE WITH DR MARTENS NZ I have a huge collection of made in England doc boots and 2 pairs of sandals, never ever had a problem, the only reason I wanted these ones, was because you could see your nail polish when wearing, massive waste of money. And absolute terrible customer service, its not like they are $50 shoes, they cost $300 and never go on sale, I bet any $20 warehouse shoes would out last these. Made in Thailand rubbish.
Awful customer service
I will never order from Dr Martens ever again. I ordered a pair of boots and a pair of shoes on 27/12, said they were dispatched on 31/12. Royal mail said waiting to receive goods for over a week. I allowed some time as it was new year before contacting them a week after dispatch email to tell them the above. Got some generic response saying to allow 2-3 days. Few days later I get a declaration form to fill in. Do that straight away. No response for over a week. I had to do a chat to get the ball rolling again. Told the boots are out of stock and will be refunded. They will send out the shoes. I had the same "send us your address" email several times. I filled it every time. It's now another week later and I've had my refund for the boots but no dispatch on the shoes. It's over a month since I ordered! Oh and they keep emailing me to ask me to review them. The survey really tipped me over though. It just asked how satisfied I was with how my query was handled. I put dissatisfied and nowhere to say why. The survey was 1 question. Very disappointing from such a huge brand. You are losing customers!
Belfast Cornmarket
I had to return a faulty pair of docs and the team were incredibly helpful. I agree I am disappointed in the quality of the shoes these days, but the customer service was absolutely fantastic and they were a credit to the brand.
Abysmal returns policy
Abysmal returns policy - costly and time consuming. Would not buy again based on that alone.
From Icon to Disappointment
I’ve owned many pairs of Dr. Martens boots over the years, and for quite some time now I’ve noticed a clear decline in quality. Unfortunately, my most recent pair confirms this trend completely.
The Navy 1460 boots I purchased directly from the official Dr. Martens website cracked after just three months of light use. Despite regular care with Wonder Balsam and shoe polish, the leather deteriorated badly and started cracking.
The boots were never soaked and never exposed to extreme conditions or drying. This is simply not the level of quality Dr. Martens used to be known for.
If you’re looking for boots to display on a shelf and admire, these might still do the job. If you’re looking for durable footwear meant for everyday wear, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
I contacted customer support, but my complaint was rejected as unfounded. As a long-time customer and supporter of the brand, I am deeply disappointed and, regrettably, this is where my journey with Dr. Martens ends.
A brand that built its name on toughness, now selling nostalgia instead of quality.
Bad quality and even worse customer service.
I bought the Spence flared boots for £126 in October. I wore them once and they are already absolutely covered in stretch marks. This isn't the same Dr Martens I had as a teen. I had a pair of boots for 10 years. They are such cheap quality, and the customer service team just ignore you. It's took me months to get anywhere with them. Don't bother.
Order issues but very quickly fixed
Had some issues with my order, my parcel went missing (not Dr Martens fault) but they sent a replacement immediately after and kept me in the loop. Very happy with service that Ana R the customer service rep gave. Thank you!
Beware - don’t order from them
Beware - don’t order from them.
Bought a brand new pair of shoes from Dr. Martens (directly from their website) for my husband for work. They were worn literally twice and the heel/collar area started peeling/scuffing, looks awful already.
I contacted customer service with loads of clear photos and they basically just refused to help. They kept saying it’s “wear and tear” / “external factor scratches” (??) even though there are no deep scratches and the shoes have barely been used. For the price, this is honestly ridiculous.
Really dissapointed with the quality and even more dissapointed with the customer service. Feels like they just copy paste the same response to get rid of you. Won’t be ordering again and I’ll be advising everyone I know to avoid ordering from them too.
Terrible so far
Terrible so far. I ordered a pair of Jorje Mules online. They were delivered on time but upon opening the box, the shoes were not wrapped and look to have very clearly already been worn. There are scuff marks all over the suede, the inside soles are marked and covered in someone else’s HAIR!!
I contacted them and was told to send photos and I would receive a response within 2-3 working days, that was almost a week ago and I haven’t heard a thing. Contacted them again this morning asking for someone to contact me today to discuss the issues and I have again been told to wait another 2-3 working days for a response.
Such a poor level of customer service for a supposed premium brand. This is my first time ordering direct and will most likely be my last
Poor quality leather and customer service
I bought my leather Chelsea boots from Doc Martens along with the 'Wonder Balsam' which I applied regularly as advised and is meant to prevent the leather from cracking and degrading.
Despite this, after ~18 months of normal use, the leather of the boots has degraded and cracked, and will soon no longer be fit for purpose. I was very disappointed as I had bought these boots with sustainability in mind and had intended on maintaining them and repairing them to avoid having to keep buying new boots every few years.
Dr Martens even have a 'Boot Repair Co', but they won't repair or replace the leather once it has degraded. Yet all the repairable components of my boots have outlasted the non-repairable leather body of the shoes!
I asserted to their customer service that the product I purchased is fundamentally not of a satisfactory quality. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 Section 9, it says goods must be of a satisfactory quality, and mentions 'durability' as one of the aspects of a product's quality. They have not been durable enough as the leather body of the boots has degraded in a way where I can't even make use of the Boot Repair Co service to get them repaired or replaced.
Their customer service failed to engage with me in a useful way and just asserted that they couldn't help me as it was beyond their 1 year warranty period.

Great services from Dr Martens
Great services from Dr Martens. Ordered wrong pair of boots, ordered vegans ones by mistake sent them back and got a full refund very quick. 10 out of 10 for great service. Ordered some boots at the end of…
Ordered some boots at the end of December and took nearly 2 weeks to arrive. Wrong boots arrived. Emailed to say I would like the boots I ordered, didn’t hear anything back. Called a few days later, very apologetic and organised a returns label for exchange of the correct boots. Sent back and don’t hear anything for a few days. Called again and were told the boots hadn’t been processed yet and to wait 14 DAYS for this to be processed! I also can’t have an exchange as the boots have since sold out so will be getting a refund. Well 14 days later and still no word on my refund. Credit card statement due for goods I do not have and would really like to buy a new pair of winter boots before the winter is over! And even if I got the refund today I still wouldn’t see the money back into the account for potentially another 5 days! WON’T BE SHOPPING WITH DMs AGAIN!
Shocking
I would give negative stars if I could firstly this is an honest review as always, after owning several pairs of Docs and never having any issues I bought a pair 11 months ago but I didn’t really wear them until recently and I am hugely disappointed with the quality and standard of the boot firstly the sole has worn severely at the heel and sole and the integrity of the inside sole has collapsed leaving them unwearable, not a problem as they are still under warranty here starts the real problem after taking the boots into the store where they were purchased I was immediately shutdown by the colleague with an obvious pre programmed offering of that’s wear and tear then I was given an email to contact customer services wow what a joke that is it is a complete waste of time they do not want to know just pre programmed again with the usual rubbish its wear and tear I have had several attempts to try and resolve this all to no avail so here is the result a terrible review to go alongside all of the other terrible reviews it is obvious they do not care about the customers they sell their overpriced sub standard footwear to I will never buy another pair of Dr Martens again and we buy lots of them they are a shocking representation of what was once a prized asset and something that would last a lifetime but not anymore they are a highly priced load of rubbish with a warranty that is not worth the paper it is written on my advice is to stay well clear of anything Dr Martens has to offer because if you have any issues which I guarantee you will you will not get any help from them at all
