Please use reusable cups again!

Not sure why Emmerys would start denying serving hot drinks in glasses or cups and offer only take away cups (based on cardboard and plastic), even if you seat inside their cafe. For an organic bakery, it pollutes the earth unnecessarily… very sad to see this happen in Øster Farimagsgade today :(

Hi Rosa
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I understand why you're wondering why we only use take away cups in our shop at Øster Farimagsgade. We are working on a solution for this at the moment. In our other shops, we make sure to look out for the environment.
Kind regards,
Emilie, emmerys

Shrinkflation – Croissants like from 7/11 but 3 times the price

First of all — hello, shrinkflation. Your products have become at least 30% smaller, yet the prices remain the same.

Second, I bought three croissants today, and the one I tasted was underbaked. I’ll probably have to throw the other two away.

What happened to the quality? I honestly can’t tell the difference anymore between your croissants for 30 kr and those from 7/11 or Lidl for 10 kr. You might say, “But ours are organic,” yet organic flour is nowhere near three times as expensive as regular flour.

I’ve been a loyal customer for at least 7–8 years, and I clearly remember the high quality you used to have. It’s disappointing to see such a decline.

Hej Julia

Tak for din konstruktive feedback.

Mange hilsner

What a disappointment. (Nørreport)

Incredibly poor service. (Nørreport st.) Tables were not wiped. We ordered coffee and cakes. After a while I went to take a glass of water (I expected similar service to Espresso house where you have free water stations to serve yourself a tap water). I did not find any, so I asked the waitress if she could kindly refill my bottle. To which she dismissively replied that I can refill it myself in the bathroom, even though she had a kitchen sink within her reach. I argued that the bathroom had only a warm tap water. She looked at her colleague (who acted arrogantly and very obviously not interested in helping), who said that they were "STRICTLY ordered" by their boss to not give water to the guests because "they have water bottles to sell". Excuse me? I was standing there in disbelief. It was not that I came from streets to ask them. I was a guest who has paid for my not-so-cheap coffee and cakes. Even after several attempts to convince them, they were both adamant, they can't refill my bottle. This was on a warm summer day. They were not busy at all. Just wow. Not sure if the boss noticed, but their competitors don't seem to have problem to give this little extra "service" to their guests. Besides, just being a human can sometimes go a long way. We won't be back for sure.

EMERYS LYNGBY HOVEDGADE

EMERYS LYNGBY HOVEDGADE

Today I had the worst experience in this place (Bakery that does not sell bread) today like many mornings I went to this place to buy bread, although today it was 24 normal loaves, but when I got there the lady made it clear to me that she could not sell this and even then she made it clear to me “HERE IN DENMARK YOU CANNOT BUY 24 LOAVES IF THEY ARE NOT ORDERED THE DAY BEFORE BECAUSE THEY LEAVE THEM WITHOUT BREAD FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS” I never understood her expression and I would love for the owners of this place if they have cameras to see the way this woman spoke to me making it clear that I can not buy bread, this is really silly because if this place were mine I would be grateful if someone bought my bread, then I agreed to ask “so you won’t sell me bread” and she tells me this time yes (with a very offensive tone) but you must order (I mean order the day before, this is not clear to me) I have gone a thousand times to buy breakfasts for my work, and my husband too where I take a lot of bread and this time she tells me that I can not buy the bread ... besides after she packs my bread in a aggressive and rude way, I was with my daughter who also wanted a croissant but when she saw how the lady treated me she got very sad (she is 8 years old and we have been there many times I even have the coffee card from this place) so much so that she did not eat either the croissant or the juice that we bought, the truth is we felt humiliated ... then the lady changed and tried to be nice but she had already attacked us ... maybe in that place they only sell bread for Danish people? I will not eat this place, I would rather lose my coffee card, and go to another place where they really want to sell bread and do not humiliate you in front of your children.

My worst experience in Denmark, I don't recommend it, they shouldn't have such rude people in such a famous place.

Absolutely pathetic with terrible service - repeatedly!

Absolutely pathetic. This cafe needs a revamp in service mindedness and quality. You are fast going in the direction of Espresso House which is simply over priced products peddled out to customers because you have branded yourselves as so called "organic". For your Roskilde cafe - get better trained kids to serve your customers and when you get an order wrong - calling the boss to tell me "we don´t make it anymore" is not an excuse. If that was the case, you should not have confirmed the order when I placed it and you should have had the decency to cal your customer (me) and tell me about that fact before I appeared at your cafe in Roskilde to collect it.

This has happened before. Not to mention when the till apparently stops working and one cannot pay for their order and is asked to leave. I mean, are we living in 2025 or what?

You just lost yourself a customer. It might be just 200-300 kroner a week but continue the way you are and many customers like me will stop their custom as well. Its not like your cafe is teeming with customers anyway!

Always a nice treat

I often pop into emerys and I am always happy. I very much enjoy their coffee or a little something sweet. I recommend their croissants and my son adores the buns. The ladies that serve are always very polite and service minded.

Bought 2 sweet raisin buns today

Bought 2 sweet raisin buns today. I was so disappointed. The buns were extremely dry, and had no taste of sugar or anything else. The two raisins or the huge pocket of air inside one of the buns, didn’t make it any better. I would expect the buns to be at least two days old. For a bakery like this, I would expect better also for the price.

I was about to order a pastry then I…

I was about to order a pastry then I see the lady taking one behind the counter and I see a pack of small flies on all the pastries! Aaargh.
For the price we are paying I would expect a bit more care, maybe put a net or something.
Disappointing.

Hi Célia,
Thanks for telling us about your experience :-)
I totally get where you are coming from, but the danish summer has taken us by surprise this year. The heat has not only given us sun and happy days, but also a lot of flies and bees. Because the heat has been so overwhelming, the stores have permission to have their doors and windows open throughout the summer. We do what we can to get rid of the annoying insects - I can promise you that, but they are some resilient little monsters. Hopefully, they are soon gone.
Have a great day!
Best wishes, Sandra/emmerys

Tea options please at emmerys

hi, I've just been into the newly renovated emmery's in hellerup. It looks great and the new design makes really good use of the space. However, I was disappointed to see there were no organic tea options. I know it is an organic bakery and coffee place, but tea drinkers would also like to join in!
It would also be great to buy a bamboo sustainable cup, so I can come with it to get my tea or coffee and reduce the paper cup mountain. Plus, I would suggest you don't use the plastic cutlery and replace it with normal cutlery. Soap options in the toilets may also need reviewing.
Thank you for updating your look emmery's and taking the time to read this.
Thanks for listening.
Astrid

Hi Astrid,
Thanks for your review and thanks for your kind words about our store in Hellerup. Your opinion means the world to us, and we are just happy to hear that you find it nice :-)

You have really good points when it comes to rethinking more sustaniable solutions and it's definitely something we will consider for the future. We are currently working on organic tea options so hopefully we can introduce these soon.

Once again thanks for your time. We really appreciate it!
Best wishes, Sandra/emmerys
