Since you asked, I wanted the pendant light that matched my recent purchase of the actual ceiling light fixture. I described it using part of the description, i.e. the stained glass pattern, in the p... See more

Shady company- poor customer service
I ordered 3 lampshades that were delivered and two boxes. One shade was from Fenchel and did not work for me so it was returned and I paid for shipping. In the other box, one shade was not at all what was ordered and I requested a return label as I did not like the other shade either. I received an email that I should keep the wrong shade and they would send me a new one to which I responded. I do not want another shade. I only want to return these. I have made five calls to customer service and continue to get the same runaround. In the meantime, they shipped another box with possibly the shade that they should’ve sent in the first place? I have not opened it. I want to return both shades don’t order from this company. They are shady, no pun intended.
pro-subscription is a scam
Their company’s pro subscription feels deceptive. I used their 3D design service once and didn’t realize I’d been enrolled in an auto‑renewing annual plan unless I canceled in time. When I contacted customer service, they said they could backdate the cancellation to June, which still left me paying nearly $200 for just one small 3D designs. But later, they emailed to say there would be no refund because that’s not what the contract allows.
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!
I purchased rugs and rug pads in August, which shipped the next day and arrived within a week. In September I decided to order 2 more rugs with rug pads, but they had switched their only shopping to a new website called shophouzz. I had no trouble placing my order, but the next day I received an email that said there was something wrong with my payment and I needed to update my payment information. The link in the email didn't work and there was no way to make any changes in my online account, so I called customer service. They said everything was fine, it was just an error from their new shopping platform. I checked my bank and the money had been withdrawn for my purchase.
After several weeks with no shipping or updates, I tried contacting customer service again. This time they said there was something wrong with my order and that I did need to update my payment information. I told them that the link in the email didn't work and I had no way to make any updates, so they said they had to turn it over to their IT department and that they would get back in touch with me soon. I emailed them screenshots from my bank showing that the money for my order had been withdrawn.
Weeks went by again without any updates or contact, so I called customer service again and they couldn't provide me with any updates or cancel and refund my order. At this point, it had been well over a month, so I filed a dispute with my bank.
Houzz disputed my claim and quickly shipped me the rug pads, but not the rugs, them used the tracking number to show that my order was fulfilled. Their response to my bank was that the rugs were out of stock and that they would refund me for those.
A month went by without any refund for the rugs, so I called my bank and reopened my claim. My bank saw Houzz's response where they said they would provide a refund and finally decided in my favor. Weeks later Houzz customer service sent me a nasty email because of the disputed charge.
This whole nightmare took months to resolved while Houzz sat on hundreds of my dollars and ultimately took a disputed charge to resolve. Do not give this company your money.
I own a roofing company in Austin
I own a roofing company in Austin, Texas and I was approached by a sales rep named Leah. She promised three counties and Leads monthly in my markets 3 to 6 months through the process not a single lead yet yet the monthly billing continued. They violated their contractual agreement and their assertions and promises during the sales process. When I called the cancel they said I was locked into a contract. I told them they were in breach of contract. I did a chargeback as they did not deliver upon their promises and they sent the account to collections and then escalated it trying to damage my credit instead of rectifying the issue and delivering upon the promises initially discussed. You know when you work with the sales rep and they tell you one thing and then deliver it does not deliver upon it. This is exactly that company do not do business with them or Angie’s Leads..
High shipping costs to return misrepresented product
I bought 4 light fixtures that were stated to be "dark bronze". They were chocolate brown at best. It took several tries to reach Customer Service. When they finally responded, I was told I would have to pay to return the fixtures. So even though the description was inaccurate, I got to pay $138 in shipping costs to send them back. Needless to say I will never buy from Houzz again. Now reading the other reviews, I hope I don't have to deal with them again to get the credit for the returned lights.
Returns are impossible
Don’t buy anything from them unless you know you will keep it, they do not want you to return anything and the whole process is a hassle. The only way to make a return is to contact support, I emailed them three times and they only answered after I told them I was going to file a chargeback. They sent me a return label and I returned it the same day but then they never followed up or gave me a refund, so I ended up having to file a chargeback anyway.
The worst customer service experience ever
I received a set of lights that I did not like. I reached out to do a return immediately after getting them. I did not hear back for 3 weeks. It was getting close to my 30 days so I sent them multiple emails with no response I sent them back return to sender. Then they told me that they could not find them even though I had documentation that they landed back in their facility. They kept asking for the tracking number I said it should be the same considering they were marked return to sender. Worst customer service ever I will never buy from them again.
don't waste your time ... horrible experience
I ordered on 12.16.2025 and was advised that the item would ship 12.26.2025 to 12.28.2025.
No word as of 1.8.2026, so I reached out through Houzz's website. No response.
No word as of 1.18.206, so I reached out again. No response.
PayPal provided a contact phone number (no phone number anywhere on the Houzz website), and finally spoke to a representative who advised that they had not received any contact from me and that the cancellation had to be made within 2 days.
Miraculously, after being put on hold, the representative sent an email to me, including my second contact 91.18.2025) and reiterating that I could not cancel. Further, a link to the 'cancellation policy' was attached. I clicked on the link - no cancellation policy anywhere.
Contacted my bank to dispute.
Avoid being ignored by houzz and shop elsewhere
I placed an order for an item, then recognized it was not the right one, ordered the right one, and submitted online request to houzz to cancel the original order. No response from houzz. It was only then that I read the abysmal reviews of houzz "customer service." So I immediately disputed the two charges made to houzz via credit card. Know what you are getting into with this company.
Need help? Expect to wait 30 days.
I had an issue with my order so I contacted Support the day after placing the order. Houzz got back to me over 30 days later. It doesn’t make sense to buy anything from Houzz. They’re just a middleman that redirect orders to whatever company sells what you’re buying. And gives you no way to contact those companies to resolve issues.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! Houzz is a dishonest company. I received a defective chair from Houzz and they refuse to replace the item. I have followed all policies for replacement of the defective chair and can not get any response from customer service.
Ray benderer and his company are…
Ray benderer and his company are criminals .he stole 7690 from me. Gave Mr estimate of 10k to do the job. Never did it.lied to.me wk after wk. Would not return my money had to take him to court and sue for max in july22. Won judgement against him , lied to judge said he would pay by Aug 22, 2025 . Hasn't paid me yet. I report him to BBB. Dutchess County consumer fraud. Building inspectors of highland and poughkeepsie. Completely stole thousands from me. Belongs in prison
The system kept deleting my work
The system kept deleting my work. The tech support is very unresponsive. For 10 days I tried to get help. It seemed like a teenager was doing tech support and reading it off a script. So odd. I am going back to Jobtread. Huge and expensive mistake to use Houzz. It's not for those serious about construction.
This company has advertised its sale - it is a farce
This company has advertised its sale over Google and all over the internet -
I placed an order - it was confirmed but I needed information on my products - the customer Service was totally ignorant of any product information - waste of time.
Now the order is confirmed but apparently Houzz got the price wrong and advertised lower than the supplier was happy with and I have been hassled by Akari Lanterns who were less than cordial and trying to get more money to process or they will cancel the order - meanwhile I can’t connect with HOUZZ the supplier says they have many difficulties - then take it up with HOUZZ do not hassle the customer - they should thank me for alerting them to the error!
I would not deal with either of these so called merchants again -
In my business I stand behind my commitments even though it was to be an error to my detriment - customer satisfaction is greater positivity than a loss on the product!
Steer clear if you don’t want to overpay and receive hassling messages every 2 minutes!
Predatory Platform
Predatory Platform – Avoid at all cost.
Houzz is excellent at selling until they get your credit card. After that, the experience turns predatory.
We spent nearly $10,000 over a full one-year contract and received zero leads and zero jobs. Houzz provided no support or outreach during the year—only surfaced at renewal time.
We clearly canceled more than 30 days before auto-renewal, both verbally and in writing. That cancellation was ignored. Our profile was suspended and the account was sent to collections for a renewal we never authorized.
Houzz continues to control and display our business information while denying us access to manage or remove it. This is not marketing—it’s a billing trap. Contractors should avoid this platform entirely.
Return nightmare
I purchased a quantity of tile and unfortunately it didnt work for me. I initiated the return process which was burdensome and time consuming due to lack of communication on the part of the seller. I had to prove the return with receipts and photos. They received the tile on December 1 and I still don't have a refund December 29. I would never order from Houzz again.
Nevere Received Order
Made a furniture 4 weeks ago. It was in stock and was going to be delivered within 10 days. We are now 14 days past the original delivery date and still no order. In fact, they don't know where it is or when I'll get it.
I ordered a rug
I ordered a rug, they sent me a TOTALLY different rug in a different color. I have sent tons of emails asking for the rug I purchased or a refund. After a month, the company finally responded and said they were CLOSING my case with no other reference to the rug or how they were going to fix it. Waste of money and time!!
Avoid This Horrible Company!
I rarely do Trustpilot reviews, but I have to make sure no one ever uses this company. I searched a couple years for a dining room set that would match my house, and found one on Houzz in February 2025. I ordered six chairs and two barstools. Paid big money and they told me I would get them in May 2025. After that, they never kept in touch with me, and I always had to follow up with them to make sure the delivery was on schedule. May arrives and I don’t have my order and I call and find out where it is – they tell me it would be delayed until July. July comes around, I don’t have my items: they say now are delaying again – until December!
Early December I went out of town for work, and they shipped me four of the chairs with no notification. They never got a hold of me: no customer service, no letting me know part of the order was going to be shipped. If I had known in advance, I would’ve arranged for a neighbor to come put the chairs in the house: instead they were just sitting outside where they could be rained on or stolen!
It’s now late December and I’m still missing two chairs and the barstools. I called last week and talked to someone to tell them how upset I was, and they said they would have someone call me. A week has now gone by and I have received no call and no word on delivery of the two remaining chairs and two barstools.
Anyone looking to buy furniture should avoid this company and buy directly from the furniture manufacturer instead. Houzz is just a third party and have horrible customer service. They also tried to give me an argument saying that I didn’t pay for the furniture back in February: I had to go back and prove to them with my credit card statement that I had indeed paid. Avoid this company at all costs!
