First breakdown yesterday after being with Ping for 2 years. Online reporting was easy, received a text phone call seconds later which was very helpful. Text message updates and coukd even track the location of the recovery vehicle. Phone calls from their team throughout and even after. Felt like above and beyond customer service.
Got cover quite easily but I would prefer to speak to someone and not buy on line
Poor customer service with contact only online and no one to speak to.
Auto renews has to be selected in order to take policy out…screens scam! Then when it’s auto renewed over weekend no one available to cancel so money is taken pro rata.
They claimed they’d sent me a renewal notice but nothing received…overall poor experience, would not use again!

The first year I was with Ping the price was competitive. However when my renewal came for the second year the price had gone by 90% even though I had not made a claim.
I contacted customer services by email and by showing them the price quoted on a well known comparison site they renewed at that price, which was only a few pounds more than last year. I was happy with the outcome.
Value for money for the excellent cover I've received
I have breakdown cover with Ping. After driving over a pothole my tyre was destroyed. I phoned for recovery, and was told it would be 60-80 minutes., after two and a half hours no show, I phoned again, to be told the recovery company were busy, and it would be another two hours. Considering the company was only 20 minutes away, I found this unexceptionable. So I paid a lot more for a private recovery. I also paid Ping an extra £30 for recovery assist, which I doubt will be refunded. Will never use them again.

I renewed my caravan insurance with Ping in June 2025. I had an accident and damaged my caravan in January 2026 and when I submitted a claim they told me they had cancelled my policy in November 2025 when an internal review highlighted an issue that was their error and they should, never have issued my policy. They said they had emailed me to tell me of the immediate cancellation. I DID NOT recieve any email from them. I was therefore unknowingly uninsured for 3 months and considerably out of pocket as my damage is not covered. Complaint submitted will wait to hear the outcome and if not favourable will go to Financial Ombudsman

Having had an insurance with Ping Insure before, knowing that in case of an accident and the car is badly damaged and written off, it’s reassurance that the insurance will return the value payout to the invoice value of the car when you purchased it.
Getting a quotation is very simple indeed.

After 1 year wirh Ping, they quoted renewal slightly cheaper than my last payment. I checked my card details were correct and accepted the quote which was new for old cover on my static van. Auto renewal was in place.
I was shocked when they contacted me to say they were "sorry to see me go!" A number of e mails later I was confident all was well. Then, just 8 hours before my policy lapsed, I get an e mail to say they could not insure my van new for old. I was left to organise cover quickly. A long story with a jumble of misspelled e mails from them, I told them I had organised new for old insurance, with another company, within the 8 hour time slot they left me with. Today, 5 days into my new policy with a new company, they take £144.94 from my bank!! By e mail, which is the only way to contact this company, I demanded they return this unauthorised payment. The payment was cancelled. No apology. A total farce and all very stressful. Thank goodness I never had to put a claim through this disorganised company. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. During this farce, I asked for a senior manager to contact me to help. Of course this did not happen. Obviously I do not recommend this company and will never use them again. Good luck if you have a policy with them.
