I was given a Spark 40 in 2022 by my daughter as a Christmas present. All went well until 11 months later when the sound began cutting out. i wrote to Positive Grid to ask what was going on because it was still in covered and got no reply at all. So i soldiered with it cutting out thinking it was me, then it seemed to fix itself, some hope! There is a design floor I've read that says some of the componants stop working when they get hot. Now after 3years i how an expensive art installation that only works when it wants to.
Do not buy one of these, it appears to me that the company are in it for the short haul because they ignore thier customer base. Just to put this into perspective I am not some kid I'm 70 years old and I'm sick of this crap!

Bait & Switch, buyer beware

Wish I had read these reviews before i fell for the Positive Grid bait and switch scam. I ordered a Spark2 amp and received the 5 year old Spark40 model.
The AI customer service bot was courteous and helpful, however when I heard from a live person they were they were not nice or helpful and blamed me for falling for their scam.
When I tried to get the correct amp sent they wanted to charge me for shipping and then re-order the same product that I ordered before trying to steal even more $$ from me.
I recommend you go elsewhere for your amplifier needs, there is a Boss solution.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. I returned my Spark Neo at my own expense- at their insistence. I have a tracking number that says it arrived at their returns depot 11 days ago. And yet nothing. So far I am £139 plus £9.60 postage out of pocket. I have asked Amazon twice to look into it but they are dragging their heels over it. I will never buy this company's products ever again.

Update: Amazon have agreed to refund me the cost of the item. Good of them, but I doubt they will see that money back from Positive Grid: I haven't heard a word from them since I sent the return 18 days ago.
Update 2: Amazon have finally agreed to refund me. It won't cover the cost of postage (I might as well have not bothered sending it back, as Positive Grid don't appear to care that they have it back) I wouldn't even want the piece of junk for free though. I imagine that this refund comes out of Amazon's pocket because I can't imagine they have managed to contact anyone at Positive Grid - I certainly couldn't. As they say - CAVEAT EMPTOR - LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

I wouldn’t buy this again

I wouldn’t buy this again, in fact I'd love to return it and get my money back. The distortion is too bass-heavy and muddy, and the clean tones lack any sparkle—even with a Strat, I can't get a glassy tone. Save your money and get a Marshall DSL1 for a proper sound.

Never buy from Positive Grid….

I’ve bought various Positive Grid products but never again as their customer service and support is virtually nonexistent. I’ve got Spark Neo headphones which rarely connect and have various software issues.that make them useless and a waste of nearly £200. I also have the Spark Link wireless system which cost over £100 that run out of charge in about 10 seconds. I’ve emailed and emailed and all I get is that Positive Grid aren’t responsible for them as I didn’t purchase them direct.
Awful company who don’t give a damn about their customers once they’ve got their money out of you. I will never buy anything from them again, they’re a disgrace…..

Poor behaviour

Not really impressed at all with the behaviour of this company. Bought a spark 40, all good as a beginner amp, bought the JH Pack. Then bought BIAS FX II in January 25 , guess what? , the JH pack need buying again, cant use what you've already bought!, on top of this, they make BIAS FX end of life 8 months later and expect me to pay another $99 to "upgrade" after spending over $200 on Software I refuse to bow down and give another $99 just 8 months later.

I sent a support request asking if this is right that i should have pay again after already purchasing, their then top software model and additional packs to go with it... no response at all, that was two weeks ago. I wont spend another penny with this company, I delete my account and deleted all their software, Im sick of being ripped off. Good riddance.

Spark 40: a great idea in theory…

I’ve owned a Spark 40 since 2022 and it’s a great amp let down by seriously glitchy software/firmware.
There’s a great - and growing - range of tones available to download easily, but an unsteady Bluetooth connection and regular inability to change presets via the app makes it very frustrating in practice.
The app used to be compatible with Spotify, but this has now been replaced with Apple Music, meaning you have to toggle between two apps when jamming.
Despite regularly checking for firmware updates, one of which failed, requiring a full factory reset with support from Positive Grid, the issues seem to persist and as such I couldn’t recommending buying this. I’ll be getting rid of mine at the first opportunity and replacing it with something else.

Hi Positive Grid

Hi Positive Grid, I submitted a support ticket (Ticket #547757) because the charging port on my device broke and now I can’t use it. Music has truly changed my life—it’s the only thing that helps me through tough times, especially when I’m dealing with rejection or feeling lost. I’ve tried many ways to feel better, but nothing works like music does. This device gave me hope, motivation, and a reason to keep going. I saved up for it myself, so losing it is really painful. I’m not trying to be annoying, but I’m asking for help to fix or replace it so I can keep doing what keeps me alive. Thank you for understanding. — Luis

They need to get their act together

I strongly recommend avoiding Positive Grid products until they fix the quality issues with Bias.
The sound of Bias is great—that’s not the problem. The problem is the technical mess that comes with it. ToneCloud’s functionality has tanked, giving completely unrelated results for simple tone searches. I’ve had Bias FX crash on me, and when I couldn’t reopen it, Customer Service told me to uninstall and reinstall, which wiped out every single tone and preset across hundreds of projects. Starting over was devastating, especially when some of the tracks were a part of an upcoming album that had been mixed but not exported.
And now? Features that used to work—like setting up automation for pedals in Reaper—are just broken. You can have the correct settings on both ends, but Bias FX simply won’t recognize automation commands anymore. Worse, Positive Grid’s support will gaslight you into thinking you’re doing it wrong, rather than admit their engineers screwed up.
On top of that, the plugin is horribly optimized. If you need three or four instances for double-tracking guitars, adding leads, and recording bass, get ready for your system choking on CPU usage.
As much as I love the core sound of Bias FX, the constant technical failures and awful customer service make me wish I had invested my time into Amplitube instead.

Still no human reaction but thankyou…

Still no human reaction but thankyou for your auto generated reply. Your company must have a very small number of staff, I also note it has only taken 3 months for a reply from PG.
It must be really hard work having to make yet another phone call to make another order for even more electronic rubbish from China.
Please note in addition to my previous comments, the spark 2 amp is only equal to a small low priced basic shoe box amp and and can defiantly not be compared to any quality amp with a 40 W power rate. It has in my opinion the overall power and and the poor tone quality of a budget priced 20 W cheap gizmo. However I do like the container "nice box".

Positive Grid ?. More like Negative

Five days ago, I purchased a spark Neo . After several hours, it seemed impossible to actually get this working. The Neo needs new firmware which must be downloaded on a computer that’s fine. I have a Mac, but the firmware will not update because it has some sort of glitch. So I am now left with a spark neo that simply does not work. Also, I can’t actually for whatever reason, register the spark Neo on positive grid, which means I can’t get a support ticket for the fact that I’d like to get a refund to send this back as I can’t get it to work. I’m in the UK, and it seems impossible to actually get hold of positive grid, or facilitate a simple online return which of course should be easy for a piece of kit bought online ( because British law says you can return items bought online). This does not seem to be panning out. I’m really hoping that by leaving this awful review positive grid will actually get in touch with me with something helpful which doesn’t involve a support ticket which I can’t actually facilitate. I own several pieces of positive grid kit, which I have found very good. This one however, seems to have broken the mould, and positive grids customer service seems non-existent. I am now stuck with a piece of equipment I can’t use and I can’t get a refund for. It will be the last thing I ever buy from positive grid.

Spark 2 amp - Game Changer

I recently bought the Spark 2 amp and had a customer service question which was dealt with very effectively and to my satisfaction! The Spark 2 is a game changer and I have bought, used amps and effects for well over 40 years, this is a great unit and so versatile it makes playing and practice great fun and the sound is amazing…. So tempted to buy the cab but let’s see how we go for now …. Also there are so many guides on “how too” on YouTube, really useful …. A****

Answer to Positive Grid Customer Support:
You want to know my support ticket number so you can escalate it? Isn't that a little bit to late? I sent it back to the European Music Store where I bought it from many weeks ago. Your software isn't developed enough. You sell a product and then you need help because it doesn't work you don't get it!
