Good Customer Service, sloppy delivery
I ordered a TISSOT automatic watch from Gassan. The ordering and delivery process went well.
When receiving the order, the parcel was well-packaged, but there were two main issues: 1) the tag and all nylon wrapping (except some leftovers on the strap) were removed from the watch, which I did not really like. I like to receive the new watch as packaged from the manufacturer and remove these things myself.
2) on the warranty card either the serial number or tag were required, but neither was there. The Gassan stamp and watch reference number were there.
I have sent an e-mail to Gassan customer support expressing that I am not satisfied with these items. I received a kind call on the next working day from Gassan customer service expressing that the watch is definitely new, and that their/her way is to remove all wrapping and tags. I don’t see how this makes sense (e.g., what if the item is returned) and I don’t see in what right does the store throw away packaging and labelling items that The manufacturer provided.
On the second point, they admitted it has been forgotten. They made sure I got (by post) a new warranty card with the full information. I received a new warranty card with tags holding numbers (including a serial number) attached, but this was not convincing as I could not see how the provided serial number reflects my watch. With some research I found that the (new format) serial number is engraved on the case of my watch and it is not the number they mailed with some random tags from another watch, quite sloppy.
